Prince George, B.C. – There was a little excitement at the Prince George Chateau on Hill Avenue just after noon today.

Four Prince George Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the retirement home following a report of a fire in one of the suites. However tywo of the trucks remained on the street and left the scene shortly after arrival.  The exact nature of the fire incident has not been released however responding fire crews had the situation under control in short order.  It was not necessary to evacuate the entire building as the problem was contained to that one suite.
An ambulance was also sent to that location as attendants were needed to deal with a medical situation.

One lady who lives at the Chateau, who joined another lady on a bench while the matter was resolved, was in a bit of a rush to get back inside.   She told 250 News “I wish they would hurry up and tells us we can go back in. It’s lunch hour and that’s a big deal for us. It’s an outing and I don’t want to miss it.”

A relatively new building. Looks like everything worked as it was designed to do. Good show!!

even tho the ladies comment about wanting to rush back in because its lunch sounds funny, I understand how she feels since this time may be the only social time they have in the day.
