Ft. St. James Mayor Honoured

Fort St. James, B.C. – Another Diamond Jubilee medal recipient has been named.
Robert MacDougall, the Mayor of the District of Fort St. James, has been awarded the medal in honour of his dedicated service to his peers, community and Canada.
Actively involved in many community groups, MacDougall has been involved in local sport, be it hockey, baseball or basketball. He has served as a director and president of the Chamber of Commerce, been a member of the local search and rescue group in addition to being a member of the dogsled association in the region. He is one of the founding directors of the Central Interior Hockey League, and is a founding director of ht e Fort, St. James Recreation Hockey League.
First elected to office as a municipal councillor in 1996, he served in that role until 2005, then was elected Mayor in 2006. He lost the election in 2008, but was re-elected to the Mayor’s chair in 2011.
