Prince George, B.C.-  About 200 Liberal supporters in Prince George turned out to a rally   this evening at the campaign headquarters for  candidates Shirley Bond and Mike Morris.

They waved placards   in time to the beat of the song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” which blared in the background, a song which could be likened to the  determination the Liberals will need to achieve the steep climb in the polls if they are to win this election.
Premier Christy Clark’s arrival was given an enthusiastic   welcome   as   she made her way through the crowd to the stage. “This is the 13th time I have been in Prince George since I became Premier” said Clark as she stressed how important Prince George is to the Province.

Her speech to the crowd was on the familiar theme of fiscal responsibility and making sure British Columbia is in  better economic shape in the years to come. “We need to ask ourselves as a Province, with this pivotal election campaign in front of us,   if  it’s not O.K for Jim and Mavis Clark, or you, to leave your kids with debt, why on earth is it O.K. for our Province to leave our children with billions of dollars worth of debt? It’s not. It’s not o.k. to leave our children with that debt. We have a chance in this campaign to make sure British Columbia is better off when we leave it, than when we found it.”

Earlier in the day, NDP leader Adrian Dix promised to invest $100-million to improve classroom learning conditions.

Dix has also announced $60 million to provide more spaces and lower the cost of infant and toddler care. Families with children in licensed care will save an average of $2,000 per year.

In addition, he said  an NDP government will create an Early Years Innovation Fund, using the BC Liberals’ education savings contribution scheme.

The BC Conservatives have announced that if elected, they would create a 3-year, $50 million grant program to support recreation, arts and culture in Northern B.C. and would  end the government subsidy to the BC Pavilion Corporation (PavCo), the organization that operates BC Place and the Vancouver Convention Centre, and PavCo will be restructured to be self-sustaining.

BC Conservative leader John Cummins says his team would  sell the naming rights to BC Place stadium and use the revenue to replace the government subsidy for PavCo.  PavCo would be instructed to be self-sustaining by Fall 2016.

WHATTTTTTT I click on the pic to enlarge it to see who all supports the Fibrilators…but it won’t enlarge. The screen just starts playing a video…:(

Don’t worry. They all have hearts that go to work 40 hours a week.

200 supporters?…that was it?
Christy Clark speaking on fiscal responsibility is embarrassing, and she does it with a straight face.
In the last few months she has handed out a lot of money/tax dollars…for no other reason than to buy votes for herself and various MLA’s.
17 million for self-promoting ads.
11 million for a Bollywood party.
25 million for a large wooden box.
This is just for starters…it doesn’t even count the millions she has already blown and she is still spending.
She has been campaigning for the last 2 years!
I assume she is basing future expenditures on natural gas revenue that B.C, doesn’t have yet…and won’t for quite a number of years.
Adriane Dix is no better really…except Christy Clark knows exactly what the books say…Adriane Dix doesn’t.
Dix is tilting at wind mills and Clark is just plain lying.

Andy: “200 supporters?…that was it?”

It’s not that I believe the Liberals have a chance, but the number who showed up means nothing. I remember an anti-HST rally only drawing a handful of people. People just don’t show up to rallies.

True enough JohnnyBelt, but if you listen to the B.C. Liberal party…you would think half the town showed up!

hmmm… where is dix going to get all the money he is planning on throwing around. I don’t know about the rest of you but I am taxed out.

Good question porter…probably the same place Christy Clark is going to get it from.
Her imagination.
The difference is, Clark won’t have to follow through…she can say whatever she likes.
Dix on the other hand, will have to produce.

Andy: “True enough JohnnyBelt, but if you listen to the B.C. Liberal party…you would think half the town showed up!”

Are you accusing them of being too optimistic? Every candidate and party has to have the attitude that they can win. If they didn’t, what’s the point?
