Using candles on earth day?
What a terrible loss. This was my kids school for elementary. There is much sadness in my house right now, however, we are all glad everyone got out.
Smoke? Carbon credits anyone?
Seamutt and Harbinger you are both loosers. Why would you make light of the destruction of a school that many think of as a second home.
Whoops I meant Losers with a capital L ;)
Monkey that all you got?
Seamutt & Harbinger, I am appalled of your comments here. A school burned down and you are making jokes. Over a hundred families have just lost their school, and now will be displaced. There is absolutely nothing funny about this event.
It is very fortunate that no one was hurt.
No, meet me at the bike racks at 3. Are you for real???
Listen I apologize for calling you losers.
I just want you to understand that this is not a laughing matter and many children, teachers and parents are right now thinking about what the future holds. Where do the kids finish this year, will the school be repaired or rebuilt.
It may sound trivial but put yourself in a 10 year old’s shoes who has always found school challenging but has finally found a place he enjoys.
Have a good night
My comments are quite appropriate considering how the perverted science of so called climate change by activists masquerading as teachers are scaring the sh.. out of children.
These so called teachers pushing this misinformation on young children should not be let anywhere near a classroom.
That is the source of my comment on this perverted earthday.
This is a horrifying sight to see. My grandson goes to this school and it is a wonderful place of learning and caring. This disaster will impact so many students, teachers and the parents of these children. The walls and hallways were covered with such unique pictures, art work and information. The teachers are amazing and it is devastating to all. I can hardly believe so much of what made this school stand apart will be lost due to smoke and water damage. The poor animals that were lost is so sad. My heart goes out to all associated with this fabulous school. The only silver lining is that no one was injured. My prayers are with you all.

Seamutt, many of us are fully aware of the questionable C02 science, it has no relation to this story. My 10 year old is reading this and cannot believe your insensitivity. He is also fully aware of the ins and outs of climate science both the main stream and the actual science. He is not scared by climate change propaganda. Children are far more intelligent than you make them out to be.
Cherylynn what you posted is well said and frames the situation. We need to stick together and get this school back on track.
They say the biggest indicator of success in life is resilience, so this is an opportunity.
Lesson to the children? Don’t play with fire. Trauma? It is real life. Something to tell their friends some day. Change of venue ? I’d call that an adventure for the kiddies. As long as the sky isn’t gonna fall, I don’t see a problem. However, if one was a little kid in Syria and someone blew up your school with you in it, then I could justify trauma. Brainwashing little seven and eight year olds with Al Gores movie doesn’t sit well with me. I saw a bunch of these kiddies on the news last night, at Malaspina school where they “experienced Earth Day”. Maybe their teacher should have taken them all on a field trip to Prince Rupert to watch the tides and celebrate “Moon Day” instead of their indoctrinational episodes about global warming. A couple of them said they were gonna pick up the garbage around the school. When I went to elementary school in the fifties the vice principal would send out the naughty children to pick up the garbage. In these times the kids won’t be sent outside for such a purpose because they would “take jobs away” from dues paying BCTF members. Remember olks. There is humour in everything. Sadly at someones elses expense. So there. One more thing, as Columbo would say, “Just remember schools are not insured. Taxpayers are on the hook.”
cherylynn…”horrifying site”? Whatever you do don’t let your children watch the news on TV. Gimme a break. But then again having a “Pollyanna” mindset can’t all be that bad. Right?
monkeyboots..call me anything you want but don’t call me late for dinner.
Scot Affleck I won’t call you late for dinner.
Actually it was meant as a question, excuuuse me
