Prince George, B.C. – Firemen battle a stubborn fire in Prince George that broke out shortly before 3.30pm. at the Highglen Elementary School. There were no injuries.
Cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is known the flames started in a classroom in the north end of the school.
There will be no school tomorrow at this site as the building is full of smoke. Northern Health’s Public Health Officer Dr. William Osei was on scene late this afternoon to talk to officials about the thick cloud of smoke that blanketed the neigbourhood. It is not known if any who lived near the school suffered any breathing issues because of that smoke.
Although there were at least three ambulances on scene, there were no injuries reported.
