Prince George, B.C. – Prince George Fire Rescue crews from all four halls in the city were kept busy during the wind and rain storm that descended upon Prince George Saturday morning.

Fire Chief John Lane says crews were dispatched to eleven weather-related calls which came one after the other between 9:20 and 10 am. That was on top of the usual load of emergency calls. Many of the requests for help dealt with ensuring public safety in areas where hydro lines had come down in the storm. And there were five fire alarm calls, although in each of those cases the alarms had been activated by power surges.

One call firefighters responded to involved a large tree falling on a pick-up truck in a driveway on Lisgar Avenue. The tree lay in a precarious position and posed a threat to a nearby structure. However, a firefighter who happens to be certified as a faller took care of that situation in short order.

Yes that is true but don’t forget to mention the Hydro crew who work with stuff that can make their organs boil!

And they steal industrial First aid contracts by undercutting the price and using fire Department vehicles and equipment.

That is why there has been FD crew and gear at husky.
