Lol! Love the CBC headline “Shaky Dix”!

Ahhhhhahaha. I didn’t pick up on that the first time. Noway…good one.

Better than “snake oil” Chtisty! Or is it “Red Light” Christy now?

At least it’s not “Fake A Memo” Christy. Or “Ride The SkyTrain For Free Because I’m Entitled To” Christy.

Gordon Campbell and Christy Clark- both unfit to be in the drivers seat. One got arrested, the should be.

I’m sure that all you saints have perfect driving records!!

I think it’s all petty crap myself.

There’s not one person driving that has not done something wrong when they drive.
If you say you’ve never speed or never missed using you signal lights or talked on phone etc then your fooling yourself.
Most people don’t even come to full stop at stop signs if they see nothing coming they just slow down and proceed.
She stopped, looked and proceeded, was it right. You be the judge but it doesn’t mean she can’t continue to lead our Province
Dix just uses transit and misplaces ticket.
Falsified documents and now wants to lead us. Who do you trust

Almost as bad as a convicted drunk driving premier or one that lied about the sale of the BCR and the 6 million given to Basi and Virk or the implementation of the HST among their host of BS they have given the people of this province. I should have mentioned selling the 450 million dollar fast ferries for what was it, 19 million?

Yep that Adrian Dix is sure a detriment to society.

we were lucky to get 19 million for ferries that were useless. Never should have been built in the first place then built at a cost of 460 million dollars.
This all against the advise of experts who determined that we did not have the expertise or proper facilities to build them. We had a chance to lease some similar type vessels and see if they would do the job but NDP were experts in wasting money so proceeded to build.

$460 million for ferries….isn’t that less than the $500 million over budget expenditure on the roof for BC Place in Vancouver??

There’s not one person driving that has not done something wrong when they drive.
============================================

You right there…it would be a rare thing indeed to find a person who has never made an error in judgement while they are driving.

The vast majority of those running red lights deliberately wouldn’t have been running in an election to be Premier of our province though. And then there is the matter of child endangerment…isn’t that a criminal offence in BC?? What is worse running red lights with your child in the car, or not making them wear a seat belt??

liberals have been really loose with tax payers money, but do not think that they have to document it, then fire people who expose them!
They spend money in areas that they want votes,or
Make promises of a Hospital in Penticton just before
A election, it should have been completed by now
They have been lying to us long enough, I am sure that some Liberals are afraid to speak out against
Smiling Chrisy!

Jim:”$460 million for ferries….isn’t that less than the $500 million over budget expenditure on the roof for BC Place in Vancouver??”

Well, we DO have a roof and a new stadium! Where are the 3 fast ferries? Have the aluminum hulls been made into pots and pans or something else useful?

never says….”we were lucky to get 19 million for ferries that were useless”.

The cats are being used in the Persian Gulf for what they were intended for, ferries!

LOL, if it were the NDP that sold them for peanuts, I could imagine the crying coming from the liberals.

The fast ferries were sold by auction with no reserve bid as that was the only way to get rid of them. They sat forever on the North shore all wrapped in plastic with nobody ever coming to kick the tires(rudder) so something had to be done as before long they would have only been good for scrap.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/story/2003/01/09/bcferries030109.html

They were useless as ferries in BC waters and slower than the vessels they replaced.

half a billion boondoggle

BTW I would love to be the TIG welder salesman at their new home port.

Auditor General’s review of the fast ferry project.

http://www.bcauditor.com/pubs/1999/report5/review-fast-ferry-project-governance-and-risk-management

Key statement from report.

“The decision to build fast ferries was not supported by sufficient
information and analysis to demonstrate that the ferries would
meet either BC Ferries’ needs or the government’s public policy goals
in a cost-effective manner”

BTW it was the NDP under Ujjal Dosanjh that put the ferries up for sale, he got the boot from office before a buyer was found.

Nice to see some people have done research on the fast ferries and can see that it was a waste of money from the get go.
It did line the pockets of Union Labour who use there union dues to support NDP.
Really wondering where all the trained welders went after the government of the day spent tax payer dollars training them to have the skills to weld aluminum at the standard required for that industry.
We keep hearing that there should be more money for skilled labour but the real issue is that when business people spent there money training these skilled employees they leave for greener pastures

That’s what will happen again if NDP elected

I find myself now wondering if the twinning of the Cariboo Connector highway will become “union only” under the next NDP Government, like the Island Highway upgrade was under the NDP government in power at the time.

Well, we DO have a roof and a new stadium! Where are the 3 fast ferries? Have the aluminum hulls been made into pots and pans or something else useful?
============================================

No WE don’t, Vancouver does, many of us will never even see the place other than on TV. That $500 million cost over run was over and above the cost of renovations…a total waste of tax payer resources from day 1.

The twinning of the Cariboo Connector was a Gordon Campbell priority. You don’t have to worry about union or non-union, the NDP will never ever even give this project any priority whatsoever. The last time they got in they slashed the budget for highways by 90% and most of the equipment left the province.

BTW, every major city in the world has sports facilities (stadiums) so if Vancouver did not have any it would be the laughing stock of the rest of the world.

“That $500 million cost over run was over and above the cost of renovations”

Like to see some supporting documentation for that number , I seem to remember the total original cost was around $500 mill and job was completed for just north of $600.

So Jim, we don’t have bc place, Vancouver does. Hmmm, were the fast cats ever up in this area? Don’t be such a fool, trying to defend the ndp. Million plus people in the lower mainland, not enough people here to fill half of bc place, where should they have built it? The renovations were necessary and yea, a world class city like Van needs a facility like bc place. Quit crying.

I guess the Liberals creating good paying jobs when they built Cancer Clinic in Prince George and upgrades at UNBC or start new Hospital Burns Lake etc is not the same as the NDP creating jobs as they are stating they plan on doing.
The difference is every tax payer got a chance to work on these types of projects if there company bid on them. Going forward you’ll need to belong to a union so you can have a job and your dues can go to pay people to work on NDP election campaign.
Call the local unions and see how many members are working on leave and getting paid to put up signs etc

I keep seeing one gentleman referring to 500 million over run on the roof. If he took the time to do research the overrun was 25 million on the roof and it is a retractable roof that has a total area of 10 acres. The total cost of everything was budgeted at 565 million.
This facility has 685 FTE employed people that are good paying jobs and the facility roof upgrade has a cost saving of $350000.00 per year in energy due to its design.
The events that come there generates over 100 million dollars per year economic activity in BC per year. That in itself is one of the reasons that that facility was refurbished. All that construction work also had good paying jobs.
As any building needs repair and refurbish over time like ones own home we either fix or tear down and replace.
Replacing and refurbishing was the most effective method. Do your own research.
