Monday, April 29, 2013 @ 2:35 PM
Prince George, B.C. – BID Group has acquired  controlling interest of COMACT, a Quebec based sawmill equipment manufacturing company.

BID Group CEO Brian Fehr will continue on as CEO of the   parent company “BID Group”. The transition will see Pierre Morency assume the role of Chairman of the Board of BID Group, Simon Potvin will take over the role as Senior VP Manufacturing, and Eric Michaud will become the Senior VP Sales and Marketing of BID Group.

Fehr says the acquisition  “strengthens the opportunities for both groups to serve our very busy domestic and international forestry-based markets”.

The combined operations will have about 750 employees with COMACT continuing to be based out of Quebec.

Are they goingmto flip it?
Cheers

Bid and Comact had something to do with eachother 15 years ago. What is the story with that?

Bid and Comact have been partners for 10 years. Bid just acquired controlling interest which means they have took over 50 percent of the company.

Was there any other bidders?

Bid was bought by comact years ago and had financial problems a few years after. This was probably a hostile take over by bid.
