Staff at Northern Sport Centre display WorldHost certification – photo-submitted
Prince George, B.C. – The Northern Sport Centre is now a certified “WorldHost” facility.
Sport Centre staff members have been taking part in customer service training for the past month or so. The WorldHost certification makes the Centre one of the first fitness facilities in the province to be designated WorldHost.
Centre Manager Kevin Nowottnick says this training will “ further enhance the experience that the numerous customers and visitors to our centre will have.
World Host training is nationally and internationally recognized. It provides staff with the tools necessary to not only make a good first impression, but to handle any issues which may arise.
The designation will serve the facility well when it features many of the events for the Canada Winter Games in 2015.

It costs us $300,000.00 each year so it should be a great place.
Cheers
Call me jaded but how much did they pay to take this training? These training sessions, I think, are just so some company can make money. Do the organizations that use these training systems really get enough out of it to justify the cost (including the cost of having staff not working but training)?
Free parking for the training guests? It is to laff.
Cheap couch?
“The proof is in the pudding”.
I hear about ll these superhost and world host designations, among others, but cannot figure out what they really mean.
So, other than a piece of paper, what knowledge, skills and attitudes did they gain above what they had before?
Did they not do their job properly before? Were there lots of complaints? Were supervisors not able to orient and train staff properly before?
Is this the new staff training method? Let someone else do it?
Can’t believe the Mayor missed this photo opportunity!
