Prince George, B.C.- It is becoming an annual favourite for kids of all ages.

The Prince George Public Library’s “Touch a Truck “ event   at the Civic Centre Plaza this afternoon had plenty of young folk who wanted to get up close and personal with many of the vehicles that are at the core of so many books and stories.

The weather was perfect, as the temperature hit a comfortable 17 degrees in the sunshine, and the pleasant  temperature meant for an excellent turn out.

The Prince George Fire-Rescue ladder truck, with the ladder fully extended was a favourite, and there was a line up of   enthusiastic young people who wanted to have an opportunity to site behind the wheel of that vehicle.

Also very popular,   a Zamboni.

The ice cleaning machine   caught a two thumbs up from 7 year old Jacob  Trevalyan ( photo bottom left) while 3 year old Kayden Collie (in the right) wrestles with a hose from the Fort George Highway Rescue truck.

A little PR after a questionable death is always good. Keep up the good work.

Questionable death? I guess in your world it’s okay to run your brother off the road after having a vehicle chase on a public road, then come at a police officer with a hatchet in your hand.
30 hours of trying to get him to surrender not enough time for you either?
I can only imagine the family dynamic that existed with the mantlers prior to this incident.
Get a life and stop being blinded by your anti police views.

This is an article about kids having fun. Don’t ruin something innocent for them with your verbal diarrhea.

Harbinger does speak the truth, and anyway’s RCMP making light of putting people in cages is not funny.

Can’t believe the comments. When I was 7 I climbed on top of and inside firetrucks, inside a police car, it was a blast. Glad to see these kids having the same fun.

We only have one side of the story Sst and it had nothing to do with the Mantlers.
