Tax Rate Before Council Tonight

Prince George B.C. – Council for the City of Prince George will finalize the tax rate for this year when Council meets this evening.
 
The rate will see residential property owners pay $7.93535 per one thousand dollars of assessed value, major industry will pay $46 dollars per thousand. That is of course, before you add on the taxes to be collected by the Regional District.
 
Also on the agenda for this evening’s meeting, a presentation from the Prince George Airport Authority which details the highlights of the past year of operations. The PGAA is wrapping up the fiscal year with a modest surplus, but advises there could be challenges ahead if funds are not reserved for maintenance and upgrades to existing assets. 

 

Council will also receive updates on the Canada Winter Games Capital projects and the Games in general.   There will also be a report on the 2012 achievements of tasks by the Downtown Partnership ( formerly the Mayor’s Task force on Downtown.)
 
There will be a public hearing on a rezoning request to allow a Laundromat and vacant lot at near the corner of highway97 and Austin Road, be redeveloped to a drug store and drive through commercial outlet.
