Prince George, B.C.- There was enough heavy machinery and equipment on site at the Prince George Roller-Dome, one might think Ritchie Brothers Auction had moved.
It was no auction, it was a Prince George Construction Association supported event aimed at pumping up the Liberal candidates, and the crowd was pumped.
On a swing through the Northern Interior, the Premier had attended events in Burns Lake and Quesnel before visiting the rally and bar-b-q .
Clark made her way through the crowd, high-fiving those along the path. The crowd of 500 plus chanted “Four More Years, Four more Years.”
Buoyed by new polls which show the Liberals and New Democrats neck and neck, and a Macleans magazine article that pointed to the “Ten Reasons Why Christy Clark Could Actually win the B.C. Election” Prince George –Valemount candidate, Shirley Bond asked the crowd “Do you sense a shift in momentum here?”
Clark stuck the theme which has been the core of her campaign, the economy. She repeated the message she has delivered so often, only her team can ensure British Columbians, a bright economic future.
But at this point the Liberals say it’s all about making sure voters get to the polls “The difference between the two (major) parties is huge, and the enormous amount that’s at stake for our economy is going to make sure a lot of people get out and vote. A lot of times people say, ‘ah, it doesn’t matter who you vote for, it’s all the same old thing’ . It is not the same old thing. It’s going to make a difference who we elect in this election.”

Whattttttttttt and we weren’t invited???/ Sneak into town like this??/ yeahhh you’ll only get the five hundred votes in PG
I don’t believe this woman. Get out and vote yet she spoiled her own ballot with her conceit and arrogance. She voted in Margaret MacDiamid’s riding, put her own name on it and the agreed to “add Margaret’s name TOO.
Yes, do get out and vote. I voted in an advance poll and I voted Conservative. I cannot vote for Christie Clark. And I cannot vote NDP even though I am a member of a union.
Tuesday will be a very interesting night.
Was the event a BBQ or a hoe-down ?
Apparently it was a private party, But she was successful in getting ALL of the Liberal voters out to her party. I wonder if she had a ballot box and lessons on how to fll out your ballot. lol
I’ll throw out my prediction now and say the NDP is going to take this one and if we had a proportional representation voting system, my prediction would then be that the Liberals would get blown out of the water.
Bye bye Clark, the circus is over.
These events are all staged, which usually means that if left to their own devices they could not draw a crowd,.
The last thing you want to do is rent a huge hall and invite the public, in case no one shows up.
The same old dogs, running on a different track.
No word in the media about her coming until about an hour before the thing started. Obviously they didn’t want an anti-Clark protest at this staged event.
Clark has the nerve to say “only her team can ensure British Columbians a bright economic future”? Let’s deal in a little reality.
1) BC 9th in job creation in Canada. 34,800 jobs lost while she spent $16 million tax dollars on her partisan ads.
2)She said go ask Moody’s or Dominion Bond Rating about her “balanced” budget. First of all neither verifies budgets as balanced or not balanced. Second, Clark said the agencies raised concerns that a change in government could lead to a downgrade in BC’s credit rating. Neither Moody’s or anyone else said that. In fact Moody’s gave BC a negative credit outlook and blamed the province’s recent accumulation of debt under the BC Liberls.
3)Clark, in two years, has added $11 Billion dollars to the debt, the BIGGEST jump in provincial history. And they propose adding $6 billion more this year, $4 billion in 2014 and $3 billion in $2015.
And she wants to run on her economic performance??? She may smile while she says it but its still bunk.
She was here to rally the volunteers because the Liberals know they’re about to lose 2 Prince George seats.
Can someone please give 5 reasons to vote for NDP and not Liberals. Thanks
A set-up event.
They don’t want anyone asking the wrong questions and they are being very careful now that election day is almost here.
I really don’t believe there’s an honest bone in that woman’s body…which is probably why some in the party want to turf her out.
Her whole campaign has been mis-information and twisted truth, with a few blatant lies thrown in for good measure.
After 12 frustrating years…they have to go!
Clark spends too much time talking about getting rid of the debt…that they created.
She never mentions that part.
The party might have survived, but not with Clark.
She was a huge mistake…it won’t just be the B.C. Liberals people are voting against…it will be Christy Clark’s leadership.
She simply cannot be trusted.
She has a personal agenda and that is well known, even in the party.
Too bad in a way…they had 12 years to get it right but they really blew it!
8:01 is now.
You’re correct Palopu! These events are all staged. It doesn’t matter which party is holding the event, they are ALL staged!
You wouldn’t be suggesting that staging an event is limited to only the Liberals, would you? I haven’t been to any of the events held in our area, but some of the media reports that I’ve seen in the days that followed seem to suggest that the Liberals have had fairly decent crowds, in fact better than the NDP in some cases.
Interesting that Christy Clark could draw any crowd at all, considering all of her screw ups and bad driving habits. But then again, why wouldn’t she when even Adrian Dix seems able to draw a crowd in spite of his complete lack of integrity made evident by his infamous back-dated memo.
Tough election! Who to vote for?? Christy Clark and her merry band of pirates, or the grinning Cheshire Cat himself, Adrian Dix from Alice in Wonderland and the rest of the Mad Hatters at his tea party?
Up in the gas and oil fields work has been slowing down as no new contracts being let until its seen who gets voted in. The feeling is if the NDP get there will be a mass exodus out of BC. A helicopter pilot I know hasn’t been getting much work up there for the last while.
Seamutt, you are absolutely correct!

Can someone please give 5 reasons to vote for NDP and not Liberals. Thanks
Hmm….Let’s see.
1. HST. And the LIE about it prior to 2009.
2. The other LIE before the last election before that one. Bc Rail. Citizens were told the railway will not be sold. Then just like HST, was imidiately done right after that last election before the last one before that.
3. OWE Limp iks. Remember the helicopter flying the snow the hill in the rain? LOL A few more billion wasted there.
4. The waste of money for that leaky roof for the Bc stadium. How many million was that? You will never ever find out the truth about the real cost.
5. Just the shear arrogance of gordy especially, but the whole lot of them. It us simply beyond belief. Do you want a few more examples of reasons to not vote LIEberal? I can go on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. How many more would you like? I got all weekend to type if you’d like.
Five Reasons for voting NDP?
1- Speaking Mandarin was a job requirement for a miners job in Tumbler Ridge.
2- Christy Clarks visit to Calgary before the elections for a fundraiser. Tells you how Northern Gateway is going to go if she gets in.
3- Improved skills training so that BC residents get BC jobs.
4- A review on fracking to make sure best practices are followed. Note even the Liberal delegate in the Peace is on board with that.
5- Christy Clark.
Typical NDP supporter responses, Not one reason to vote for the NDP, just pointing out negatives. Those are just as good of a reason to vote Conservative, or Green, or Rhino.
Why should a person vote for the NDP?????
As much as I’m disappointed in some of the Liberal’s legislation; ex., – draconian speed laws…carbon tax, the failed HST….I’m still going to vote Liberal, even if I have to hold my nose to do it. The NDP will shut down this province. Sorry, but that’s just my opinion.
” I voted in an advance poll and I voted Conservative. I cannot vote for Christie Clark. And I cannot vote NDP even though I am a member of a union.”
Kind of like the chickens voting for Col. Sanders.
I will vote Liberal and I fully wish they would reinstate the HST.
Carbon Tax can take a hike, but I loved the HST.
Thanks MattyC and Herbster, but you never convinced me. Liberals it is. And I loved the Olympics even if they did have to fly snow in!
Reasons not to vote for the NDP
-Fast ferries
-Island Highway
-Skeena Cell pulp mill
Reason not to vote for NDP.
NDP stands for
NO Down Payment
0% because when you go to the car lot and they offer 0% financing it costs just read the fine print because if you pay cash they drop money off the purchase. Whatever they drop off is what your paying in hidden interest.
NDP making promises telling people what were going to get more government employees. Well that money has to come from somewhere, so other people lose there job, or higher taxes, and anything they pass on to business, banks, etc means they raise there prices to cover these higher taxes or they just simply pick up shop and leave town.
In Alberta when the Government of the day decided to raise Royalties on the Oil patch the industry moved to BC and Saskatchewan and Alberta suffered with the bad decision.
Dix and his merry persons will need to rob Peter to Pay Paul as with all the promise’s they are making that is the only way to pay for it.
Reasons for voting for NDP:
1) To save BC Institutions from expanding corruption.
2) To save BC Adv education system from going bankrupt (Dix’s call to Capilano univ not close programs before election).
3) To conduct proper investigation into all these ongoing scandals (BC Rail, WIDC, …)
4) To reign in debt. Clark added $11 Billion (i.e. 25%) to debt in 2 years and plans to add another 11 Billion in next 2 years (another 20%).
5) To save Health care system and stop the rise of MSP …
6) To insure safety of mills and prevention of more fires and deaths, and subsequent cover ups …
7) To save BC by bringing change ….
Hart Guy. These events are not all staged. Usually the staged ones are because the candidates are afraid to rely on the voters to show up and support them.
When Trudeau came to town a number of years ago he filled the old civic centre and had hundreds of people standing outside. This was not staged.
Mulrooney was able to draw a crowd during his first term, however he couldn’t fill a phone booth by the time he left.
John Turner when he came to town had to stand at the gate at Lakeland mills at quitting time in order to shake some hands.
So it depends on what is happening at the time. Christy obviously is avoiding a big public event. So are the NDP. Both parties have their loyal supporters, and are now in the process of bsing joe and jane six pack, in order to get elected.
After the election, you will once again become a non-person in the eyes of the Government.
I for one will not be voting for either of the mainstream parties.
I hope you know that the Conservtive guy…Rysz..is a Sicamous district councillor and works in Revelstoke. I didn’t think he was even allowed to run in a different riding.
Christy Clark does not live in the Point Grey riding that she represents either. Parachutists everywhere you look.
I am not sure who to vote for, but I like Christy Clark as a person,I like her spunk .Its Shirley Bond I am not so sure about, she has a lot on her shoulders at the moment, is she qualified to do all the jobs she has been given ? We haven’t seen her much in our area of town, the part she represents ,maybe its just too hard to try to do it all.
I met this weekend a person who has worked for Christy Clark and Gordon Campbell and I heard some horrible things about Clark and her character and how from day one she has been running things for her own interests. No wonder all these BC Liberal ministers and MLAs resigned.
Before voting just go and read what the resigned BC Liberals MLAs have publicly said and wonder what they say about her in private. She will bankrupt and corrupt this province to its core if she is given another mandate.
5 reasons not to vote Liberal….
1)The money received from the sale of BC Rail and all the other assets they sold, was put into general revenue to lower the deficit. Kinda like selling your boat to pay the credit cards. Not exactly balancing the budget, is it?
2)Our MSP billing and records is now in the hands of an American company.
3)BC Hydro administration, meter reading, and billing is now in the hands of an American company.
4)Our rivers are now controlled by the multinationals such as General Electric.
5)BC Hydro is going to be paying more for power from the IPPs than they sell it for. This will probably bankrupt BC Hydro, and then it will be sold.
6)They’re in such a hurry to get all the resources out of the ground and sold off, there will be nothing left for future generations. We’ll be buying everything from China and other countries at higher prices than they’re getting our resources for.
We need to set back and rethink what we’re doing and where we’re going. Six LNG plants? Maybe two would be more sustainable.
Many of the things the Liberals have done, can never be reversed. We’re such a rich province, why are we giving everything away, why are we broke, and why are we in debt?
