It’s been a gorgeous week in this part of B.C., and now its time to share some thoughts on those issues which struck a chord with you over the past 7 days.
The rules are very simple, you pick the topic, but, as always, obey the three simple rules:
Keep it clean
Keep it legal

Up in the gas and oil fields work has been slowing down as no new contracts being let until its seen who gets voted in. The feeling is if the NDP get in there will be a mass exodus out of BC. A helicopter pilot I know hasn’t been getting much work up there for the last while.
Yeah..this guy I know knows this other guy who’s sisters brother uncles cousin is moving to alberta due to no new jobs since the NDP got on the ballot :)
Tell the pilot to head to kelowna, lots of need for helicopter pilots there right now.
How about this weather.. Fantastic start to the summer. Hope it keeps up :)
Don’t kid yourself PVal, there’s nothing good about a potential NDP government.
P Val, the northern regions of this province are the economic engines of our economy. While you make light of Seamutt’s comment, the fact that you suggest that someone leave the north to go find work in Kelowna only supports the dilemma that Seamutt speaks of.
I have both friends and family employed in the oil and gas industries in Northeastern BC and I wholeheartedly agree with Seamutt’s comment. There is indeed an atmosphere of fear and apprehension regarding this election. Go to Fort Nelson and check out the mood in the area. Sit down in a coffee shop and tell the patrons about your post on this site. After you have done that, come back here and let us know what you find out! I’ll thank you in advance for your comprehensive report!
Things were noticeably slower around Fort Mac last winter as well, contracts were being cancelled, people were worried. Must have been their worries about the NDP!
Really people, get a brain. NG is at $4, Alberta is getting hammered by price differentials and Bakken oil. Nothing to do with the NDP.
Lieberals are getting desperate, they must be behind in PG.
The Three Big Lies
1- Won’t sell BC Rail
2- HST? won’t happen here
3- Northern Gateway? Only under winning conditions
Don’t get fooled again!
Go Sens!!!!!
Herbster:
1) Fast Ferry’s
2) Skeena Celulose
3) Bingo Gate
Who is fooling who?
If I get one more prerecorded message from the NDP I will ……………….. well, what can I do? I have gotten 4 of those stupid calls on my voice mail in the past week. Unlisted number or not, they keep calling and calling. Like we all enjoy getting a canned message.
Typical NDP, ship in a candidate from outside the riding, flood phones with voicemail and think they have all the answers.
Oh, and do the NDP really think we wont hit he delete button after about 4 words? Do we really want to sit around and listen to them ramble on?
Bunch of idiots.
NDP….No Dam Paychegue
Remember the good old days when parties campaigned on what they were going to do, not on what the other party did?
I guess we already know what the NDP will do, kill our economy, force our children to pray for a job at McDonalds and double the size of the workforce at the welfare office.
801—-if by some miracle Christy Clarke gets elected her party is going to implode with the act of sticking knives in their leaders back–801
I’m curious exactly who is behind this 801 movement?? Who wants her job SoSo bad that they are willing to attack on the eve of an election??? Any guesses???
I know I’m getting old, but I don’t have amnesia, I have’t forgotten the 1990’s when the NDP were in power. We went from a rich province to a “have not province” I still remember the exodus of people from BC to Alberta, many haven’t returned either. Mr. Dix and the NDP are spending money like a drunken sailor and the only plan he has or they have is to tap into the pockets of us taxpayers.
Go Haldi road Go!
Who is fooling who is a great question.
How many conservatives last federal election thought they were voting to have their savings accounts and pensions taxed to bailout bank gambling in the global derivatives markets? Common now show of hands from the conservatives.
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty calls it the ‘Bail In Regime’ found on page 145 of his ‘regimes’ 2013 budget. This clause will allow banks to convert liabilities into capital in times of need… part of Harpers ‘enlightened sovereignty’ policy of global central bank harmonization.
What is a liability in banker terms? A liability is your savings account, or your pension, or your investments being held by the bank. Its not your assets anymore, but rather a liability owed to you by the bank… ranking as an unsecured creditor behind derivatives that are considered secured and priority in times of capital need (ie bankruptcy).
Consider that the Royal bank has more value in derivative contracts than the GDP of the Canadian economy. Consider also that this casino is now backed up by your pension and savings accounts… conservative budget 2013.
Consider also that a shaky global economy can cause massive tremors in the derivative liability markets as these are contracts to hedge risk after all. A major war, or collapse in big city condo markets with hyper inflation interest rates could be all it takes… stranger things have happened.
So we are all Cyprus in waiting now. The more you have invested in Canadian banks the more at risk you are. Federal deposit insurance only guarantees up to $100,000 per account, but could easily get overwhelmed should a systemic event occur and likely wouldn’t be able to cover even a fraction of Canadian savings and investments.
Its bad enough the central banks collaborated to print money for bailing out banks… giving it all to the banks, while nothing went to the middle class who’s real dollar value was essentially taxed… they printed money to drive down interest rates skewing the real risk reward for investments transferring reward potential from pensions and savings to bail out their ponzi bubbles. Now they will just tax the savings of money that wasn’t printed from nothing as well.
Harper is great at fooling conservatives… biggest deficits in Canadian history (added $150 billion recognized debt), largest government in Canadian history (his budget forecasts it will have doubled under his watch by next election), least transparent government in recent history… the man is one of the greatest game theory tacticians of our time. Next in greatness only to his mentor Netanyahu who is the true master of manipulating events.
Problem with game theory is that the objective is all that matters and the more nefarious the objective the more one is likely to discount the interests of other stakeholders in achieving the game theory objectives. The more game theory one uses to strategize and influence events, the more one requires the muzzlement of scientific and qualified opinions of professionals, or control of access to factual scientifically based data and information. Everything Harper does is to further his ability to use game theory strategy to set the agenda.
Slipping in a clause on page 145 of the budget ominbus bill to transfer your savings deposits as liabilities to capitalization for the bankers… making us all unsecured creditors of a ponzi financial system is game theory positioning for globalists that don’t have a care for the plight of people who have just had their pensions stolen from them.
Who is really fooling who is a great question.
Eagleone,
are you Charles as well?
On Global News last night, according to a UBC study, the most fiscally responsible BC gov’t the last 20 years:
Harcourt’s NDP; the worst Clarks NDP– and they got fired, deservedly so.
With the track record of this group of Liberal, ID believe they deserve to be fired. I see no other way of telling them that their track record is not good enough.
I will vote NDP; I do not believe anything the Liberals say…. they have completely lost my trust.
We talk about the 1990’s in 2013 as if the boogyman from the past should be enough to drive us to vote for the hidden agenda of parties today.
Lack of critical thinking and investigative curiosity gives us a dumb debate of useless slogans and poor attempts to perpetuate false memes.
I think those responsible for perverting the intent of the democratic process should be ashamed of themselves and realize they often enable and encourage through their behavior the very things that they protest. And worse yet we have a political class that condones a democratic process so corrupted and debased of integrity that no amount of trickery is to low if it can be spun to gain some temporary favor in the hypothetical peanut gallery of talking heads.
Elections are no longer about mandates for a vision, but rather just a mandate for an agenda that lacks transparency, education, and accountability. Is it really democracy when elections are no longer about educating voters about the people we vote for (and the ideas they represent), but rather elections have become about obfuscating the real agenda from the hidden hand with true power as if we are all idol worshiper stuck on zealotry tangents?
IMHO
No, I am not Charles lol… but I think he has his eyes open more than most and usually enjoy what he has to share.
Hospital patients have their beds in a Tim Hortons outlet?? Shame shame shame. CC should be ashamed.
$$millions forked out for a Bollywood party….and the BC Children’s hospital has to beg for donations on TV???? Shame shame shame
And the BC Liberals say families first??
Jim13135,
I think I would prefer a hospital bed in Tim Hortons. Just seems like more fun that the stodgy rooms in the hospital.
Man having a heart attack is turned away from the Princeton Hospital ….BC Liberal cut backs endanger the lives of anyone living north of Hope. Shame shame shame….
90 year old couple living in care shipped to different care homes, demonstrating BC Liberal indifference to BC senior citizens. Shame shame shame
Ahhh yes the 90’s. When we had silviculture, most of my friends worked around PG(not Ft Mac), when the provincial debt was 1/4 of what it is now, when user fees were much lower, when 70 more sawmills were still in operation, when BC Hydro was one of the most profitable utilities in the world vs. being massively in debt. Makes me tremble to think back to those dark days.
Anybody who owns a house and votes NDP, dont come crying about the price drop in your real estate values.
When your child cant get a job at McDonalds because your wife is working there full time because you lost your job. Remember you voted NDP.
Why look as far back as the 1990’s? The past 12 years are filled with enough misgivings, poor money management and broken promises to secure my vote for a party different then the BC Liberals.
Now we will be able to thank the NDP for deflating the Canadian real estate gasbag, and for solving the worker shortage issue? It is to laugh. The economy is going to crawl along. No matter who is in power.
Can you imagine Glen Clark and Moe Sahota with todays social media?
The gaffs they had with limited media, in todays world they would have gotten the electric chair.
Have a fantastic weekend folks! Enjoy the beautiful weather we are having….hope to get in a few rounds of golf this weekend! PG Golf and Curling Club greens are in good shape and Aberdeen…well give it a week or so.
Heyyyyy Beautiful day.. Go out get some Vit D.. Take in the May Day Parade on Saturday.. Take yer measley paycheques and go garage sailing, support the people of PG.. Take in the farmers Market dntn on Saturday
To join the political rants this morning, I bring the following for your thoughts. 1. The Libs are stating that they will control spending. Lets look at how they control spending – $16 million for partisan ads about the famous jobs plan; $11 million for the Bollywood awards and then ignore Surrey; $6 million for their staff members in BC Rail; $25 million for the WDIC in PG that has been promised for years, getting started now because they believe they are in trouble; Thousands of dollars on the ‘ethnic gate’ issue that they quickly paid back as soon as they got caught (what if they hadn’t?); Cutting services to the public while at the same time reducing tax burden on their friends; It seems to me that they have been taking lessons from the master propagandists of the last century “tell a big lie often enough, people will believe it is the truth”. I have not mentioned HST, and the revolving door in the Premiers office over the past couple of years as she has cycled through media reps faster than the Canucks have cycled on the power play. Ask anyone who is in government, worked with government and you will find that for the last few years, and getting worse with the current regime, no media contacts were permitted without the express approval of the Premiers office and their vetting of the message. I guess that she should speak of control, she certainly knows how that works. In the past I have supported the free enterprise parties, but I have become so angry of being fed bull***t and being told it is ice cream, I will be voting for an alternative. They past years have proven, at least to me, that the Liberals have forfeited their right to continue to govern this province. Remember, vote for who you want, just get out and vote. Have a great weekend everyone.
Dix’s economic plan for the province…stop resource extraction and raise welfare rates.
damn NDP — already in power in Alberta and Sask judging by Wajax financial report today
Off to make my millions, looking forward to some good rants when I get home.
damn NDP — already in power in Alberta and Sask judging by Wajax financial report today
I thank the BC Liberals for the carbon tax….making sure PG residents consistently pay the highest fuel prices in the country!! Lets talk a little about the quiet deal they made with Coastal First Nations….so they could sell carbon credits….talk about extreme vote buying. :-(

There are more than two options in this election.
Ya’ll keep yapping about two (2)
If you want to see a change, then do something different.
The actual fact of the matter is that not one (1) candidate is qualified by education or experience to run the province.
Get out and vote.
Do not spoil your ballot, make a choice, make your mark, vote.
Quit going in circles. I have decided that I will vote green.
My reasoning is that I don’t want more liberal actions, the NDP scares me economywise, the conservatives are a joke, and the marijuana parties only goal is federal jurisdiction.
The Three Big Lies
1- Won’t sell BC Rail—need to get goverment out of business
2- HST? won’t happen here—Christy did a referendum on this and did what 56% of the people wanted….If we had that vote today it would be a different outcome
3- Northern Gateway? Only under winning conditions—This is a fed issue and the B.C. Native commuunities will ultimitately put this project to bed.
Don’t get fooled again!—-Adrian Dix is a person who back dated a memo used in a court of law..his own party fired him..TRUST???
What was the TERRIBLE stink in our air last night? Does anyone know? The firehall says it was inversion but I have lived here a long time and last year was the first time that awful ammonia stink was, and now again last night. Last year people got nauseated and headaches from it and again last night. I heard a few people were having trouble breathing also, and in one case an ambulance was called. This is pretty bad if it causes instant nausea and the works. Some say the smell is not dangerous well I disagree if you become ill!!
It’s sad when all your choices for political parties are complete garbage. I’m sure many like myself are completely frustrated by the lack of any viable party options to vote for. Even voting for the local candidate is out as they all “tow the line”.
I am a huge beleiver in voting and always have voted but I am seriously considering not voting this time as there is no party I would vote for at this time.
And folks wonder why voter turn-out is 50% or lower….what a sad, sad state of affairs.
Loki- there are two options in PG if you want your vote to count. Otherwise consider your vote a protest vote or a wasted vote. If you want to stop Northern Gateway and are serious about it, then NDP is the only choice in PG.
“TERRIBLE stink in our air last night”….drove by the Husky Oil Refinery yesterday and it appears they are doing sometype of maintenance work. Dollar to a doughnut it came from there…they must be blowing out the pipes…
I am a proud BC Liberal and always am excited come election time but it just isn’t the same without Pat Bell. I hope that you all take a moment and appreciate what he has done for this province.
Please voters don’t forget the mess that BC was in when the NDP ran it.
Have a great weekend!
I heard it was the new raw sewage plant that caused it last year and last night again. The firehall said they had tons of calls about it. Anyway, to make a person sick in an instant like that is NOT good!!
The two choices we have here, bad or worse.
Indeed, my vote is a “protest” vote. Better to give my vote to one than the other rather than spoil the ballot.
At least in this way, the candidates will see that i voted and that I did not vote for them.
I’m guessing that the Excalibur party proposes to abolish the Long Sword Registry.
“Terrible stink in the air last night”
About the same time as Christy Clarks BBQ?
just sayin…
good morning Loki – thanks to your comments last week, I voted yesterday. What you said about voting being a duty and not a right hit home.
Thanks. And God help us all, whoever gets in.
Before I read all the other posts above, I want to post my thoughts (before I forget them). Has the summer-like weather curdled the brains of the fair drivers of this fine City? I can’t believe how dangerous it feels on the streets of PG right now. I actually felt safer in the winter. It is not that people are speeding more; it just seems that drivers are wandering more. People driving all over the road. People forgetting they have turn signals. People forgetting that they really shouldn’t pull out right in front of others.
Enjoy the beautiful weather but don’t forget to PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DRIVING.
Last time ndp were in, doctors left pg.
Last time ndp were in, lots of people went to Alberta to work.
Last time ndp were in, They had to pay out a local sawmill $130,000,000. due to ndp cancelling a contract that alredy was a done deal.
The biggest joke here is The union leaders
being so negative to businesses, they want the ndp in, which in turn cost lots of jobs.
In otherwords they are hippocrits.
Hello Liberal party candidates, the only sign out in the Danson Industrial Site is an NDP one. You may want to get on that and set up some of your own. Just saying!
While the Liberals governed, the debt has doubled
While the Liberals governed, another $80 billion in debt has been hidden through creative accounting to be payed sometime in the future
While the Liberals governed, doctors have left PG
While the Liberals governed, public assets have been sold off
While the Liberals governed, people go to Alberta for work
While the Liberals governed, taxpayers have paid millions to cover up Railgate
While the Liberals governed, fees and medical premiums have risen
While the Liberals governed, our forests have been ignored.
While the Liberals governed, provincial debt has been doubled.
While the Liberals governed, net migration in BC is worse than during the NDP reign
The biggest joke here is the notion that the Liberals are good stewards of the economy, while debt skyrockets, jobs creation sucks, and skills training finally appears on the radar.
The question is who to vote for? I think of this election as if it were a play. The current liberals are the main players and the NDP are their understudies waiting for their chance to hit the stage. We as voters are in the audiance as the critics. Night after night we see the main player preform and we can be judgemental. They are out infront of us constantly. The undersudies waiting to go on, we have never seen. They tell us their great but we have never seen them preform. They want their chance to show us how great they will be if only given the chance.
They give us hits that they will not preform the pay as writen but will go off their own script yet we do not know what that will be. I suspect they will change the play entirely make it from a comedy to a tradgety. I do not know about most but I perfer a good laugh over a bad cry. It is better to dance with the devil you do know then the devil you dont know.
I have a terrible sense of smell, but what was in the air last night almost made me sick to my stomach and should never be allowed to occur again in this city! Now as to the election, how do you think I should vote on Tueday given my personal data results. While the NDP were in power=one steady job for myself.During the liberal years in office=I have gone through five different jobs!Where do you think my check mark will appear come Tuesday?
People have asked in the past if Adrian Dix is married and if so why is his wife not on the election trail with him. Well I read that he is indeed married. The reason she is not campaining for the NDP is because she is voting Liberal :-)
So we should just keep watching the same terrible play, night after night……….after night?
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Albert Einstein
Govsux. I never said the play was terrible.
I like the current play. Yes there are certain acts I do not care for. And it is not the same play every night. Its a differnt play every week. The problem is we have got a glimps of the understudies waiting to go on. This glimps came in the form of the NDP up 14 % in the polls a few weeks ago and now the latest polls last week showed only a 4-5-6 piont margin. The reason???? the NDP got on the stage and opened their mouths. They did the dumbest thing they ever could have done, they started to talk. Had they shut their mouths they could have won in a landslide. But they talked and the audiance listed and the play is making no sense what so ever.
The one and only time I have been laid-off in my life the NDP were in charge of this province. I suppose I should thank them, it forced me to rethink my life and I decided to get an education.
keep voting liberal
or
NDP
or
Conservative
These three have had a turn. Well actually several, and the citizens got bent over every time.
Let someone new screw us over. At least it would be a new face to look behind us at. Maybe the new bloods will use lube a give us a nice kiss.
Adrian Dix is married but I think she is not campaining with him because of her last name. Look it up folks ,,,quite funny
801—CC gets the boot. :-)
This Liberal government is a tax and borrow till the province is bankrupt govt. All the while promoting foreign workers over Canadian workers…anyone that still supports these thugs needs their head examined .
Actually Loki I prefer “”Insanity: quoting Einstein over and over for something he never said”
;)
Haha Willyj! Hilarious!
I looked up Adrian Dix’s wife’s name and I think that the NDP probably advised him that they didn’t want to explain how Renee Saklikar supports Adrian’s Dix!!
Funny!!
Pretty sure I’m going to vote Liberal this time around. I was on the fence but I was trying to watch the Simpsons last night and someone kept phoning me and leaving me long messages and filled up my voice mailbox. The other guys have pretty much ignored me – and that I prefer.
Really though, I think the NDP will win, but I think it’s important the Liberals aren’t wiped off the face of the planet, because an effective opposition will be needed. And when Christy loses her seat, maybe they’ll be smart enough to elect a ethical and respected leader.
I sincerely hope Dix is smart enough to rule with good sense rather than poor ideology.
I actually like his leaning toward it all doesn’t have to be dug out of the ground right away, but we still have mortgages to pay and we still have to trade something to the rest of the world to pay for our Iphones, Play Stations and clothes made in sweatshops.
“not one (1) candidate is qualified by education or experience to run the province”
oops…..
to continue that thought from someone earlier ….
I have been watching some of the parliamentary procedures from Germany recently …. so many PhD it seems ….. I bet you some of them even understand what their Deputy Ministers tell them …. ;-)
Just imagine … a City Council with 75% PhDs and engineers and accountants …. and lawyers …
No more dusty streets this time of year!!!
Regardless of who wins the election, it would be best if it was a minority government so that the governing party couldn’t just do whatever they wanted.
I am with you jakeadoo. I did much better also when the NDP were in power!!
I live near Pine Center and the smell is still in the air today, although not as bad. It is bad enough that I an taste it on my lips and my breathing is not great. Time to maybe leave P.G.
Yes, I have also heard about more jobs in Alberta since N.D.P. got in there!
I see the censors are hard at work No wonder I seldom post or read this stuff. Freedom of speech? Not here.
anyone know what the big ploom of black smoke is north of the Hart?
Actually, Adrian Dix makes a point of keeping his political life and family life separate. It has nothing to do with dirty-minded interpretations of his wife’s name.
mythoughts – it sounds like a slash block out of control out off Chief Lake road…
mythoughts, I just read that the black smoke up the Hart is a forest fire. One of the local radio stations mentioned it. Hope it’s not near my house or anyone’s, for that matter.
1km west of Pilot Mtn Fire Hall
Grass fire not currently threatening any residences.
If you haven’t heard of the lies, corruptions and scandals of BC government, then you have been living under a rock.
Even BC Liberal ministers like Falcon have distanced themselves from Christy Clark government. Have you forgotten Kash Heed, a B.C. MLA and former solicitor general, who called on two of his Liberal caucus colleagues (Shirley Bond and Pat Bell) to resign?
NDP should make an Ad with these BC Liberal ministers Falcon, Kash, … complaining of corruption of this BC government.
– John Yap resigns from B.C. cabinet over ethnic voter scandal …
– Liberal MLA calls on jobs, justice ministers to leave cabinet …
– sudden resignation of finance minister Kevin Falcon and an expected announcement from Education Minister George Abbott that he too will not seek re-election next year.
Christy Clark is a weak person and BC deserves a leader, not a trainwreck who has spent like a drunk and added 11 Billion to the debt. She cannot even keep a cabinet together and she talks of leadership ….
The NDPers out in force trying to dump on Christy Clark who hasn’t even had a full term yet!
How about doing some navel gazing by remembering some of your own glorious ex-premiers: Harcourt (resigned, Clark (resigned and became big corporation boss), Dan Miller (interim), Ujjal Dosangh (became a Liberal!), leader Carole James (stepped down under extreme pressure), federal Bob Rae (ruined Ontario) then became a Liberal…throwing stones when living in glass houses!
The fact that Dix is happily married is a strength and it shows that he has managed his personal life well. A strong leader needs a partner who backs him or her at home.
Christy clark is a failure according to its own MLA Van Dongen:
âI had hoped that there would have been renewal in my party and in government, but in the last 12 months I feel that has not happened,â van Dongen said in the legislature at about 2:30 (26 March 2012).
âIndeed, every week constituents question government actions and issues that I am not able to defend.â
Van Dongen cited what he called âserious unanswered questionsâ around the payment of $6 million in legal fees for two former political aides in the B.C. Rail controversy.
âThere have been other lapses in proper accountability and I expect more to come,â he said. âWhen more and more decisions are being made for the wrong reasons, then you have an organization that is heading for failure.â
Don’t vote for corruption and FAILURE.
Whether she wins or loses, Christy won’t be the Liberal leader for long. Who’s next ? Coleman ? oh joy.
Gotta love Gordon Wilson stepping back into rooting for the Liberals after what the Liberals did to him and his wife Judy Tyabji back in the day.
Adrian Dix might be a good guy but he’s with the wrong party, IMHO.
Looks like something burning south too.
Here is what Im hearing, although not necessarily gospel ;)
1) Forest fire off the end of Discovery road, started in slash pile (as reported on 0250 now)
2) Grass fire near airport
3) Forest fire near Buckhorn road
PrinceGeorge
Ujjal Dosanjh became a FEDERAL Liberal, which is quite different from the provincial “Liberal”/Socred/Reform party.

just make your X and that’s it, end of it!
Dosanjh. Can you say provincial pension and federal pension. The reason he jumped ship to the federal Liberals was an easy riding to win in and he could get that second pension.

1.40 a Liter Gas in PG, by the Summer it maybe 1.50 or more ? The End of the Gas Guzzler has arrived !
Anyone notice the wind is coming out of the northeast the last few days? I have had a terrible week breathing & coughing.
It’s exhausting.
BC Liberals……..
BC Rail scandal including the RCMP raid on our legislature and the 6 million dollars paid to the lawyers of two guilty BC Liberals.
Premier convicted of DUI.
BC Place cost over runs.
BC Convention Center sold to the people for half a billion ended up costing us double.
Ethnic vote scandal.
Pacific Western Brewing Company, (a big Liberal campaign funder) handed a ten million dollar tax break by Rich Coleman.
The 2010 Owelympics.
The Sea to Sky Hwy.
Independent power producers, (run of river projects) destroying our rivers and billing our BC Hydro beyond belief power rates that BC Hydro is locked into.
More later!
As I read so many postings on this site, I must say and give credit the one poster I think is the most informed and intelligent. GUS hands down is the best. Smart, informative and seams to have grasp of what is going on. I therefore have to conclude that with all that intelligence, you have to be voting Liberal. Am I right
Those here who try spinning every corruption and scandal by BC government are on the payroll of BC Liberals and their funding is going to dry up in 4 days.
4 days left …
I rememeber to 90’s. Voting Liberal all the way.
to = the.
OK. Here’s the skinny.
Thomas Jefferson, US President stated the following.
***Governments yield to pressure and it is the responsibility of the electorate to apply the pressure***
Soooo. You cannot apply any pressure on the Liberals to change if you re-elect them. In fact at best you will get more of the same, and you would be at the very least rewarding bad behavior. If you give the NDP a huge majority they will in fact get a swelled head, and start acting like the Liberals.
Soooo. In order for us to send at message and apply some pressure to the two main parties, we need to begin voting for other parties, ie; Conservative, Green, or Other. By voting other than Liberal or NDP, we will be sending a message that there needs to be some changes made as to how Government works in BC.
So I suggest to those who are not joined at the hip to either the Liberals or NDP, to change their vote. We can send a message, so lets for once get off our backsides and do so.
PS: If all else fails, I suggest that for the next election we form a new party called the APATHY PARTY OF BC. If we can get the apathy vote, we can form the next Government.
Have a nice day.
Yes all those professional people in the German governmet are a vast impovement from the house painter that they had at one time. But then they are noted to go from one extreme to another.Arent Gus?
Cheers
rattyboy …. I am not in PG on electtion day …. voted shortly after the writ was dropped …..
So, for all those who think that one cannot complain if one does not vote …. I can complain if I want to for the next 4years …. :->
They handed me a ballot …. didn’t know anyone but Mike, so voted for the guy I know best.
If he does not get in, I will be riding the person who did get in VERY hard….. ;-)
Herbster, we must be working in different ft macs. While I agree some contracts were cancelled, this was another stupid busy winter. The $12 billion kearl project made the east athabasca hwy horrifically congested. Sagd exploration was in full swing with a major powerline going in this winter. Anzac, Conklin, Cold Lake, Slave lake, LLB are also booked full. Try getting a room in January. Hot bunking & having 8 guys in a townhouse is silly. Thankfully at least 3,000 more rooms should online this winter. LLB cancelled their winter festival due to no rooms.
Many companies are giving retention bonus’ on top of production, living out, & regular raises due to employee movement this winter. Northern Saskatewan is even worse. Summer work does look a tad slower but there’s 100’s of kms of pipe left to bury. Another great year for the mat boys.
