Liberal Optimism Growing As Numbers Roll In
l-r Liberal supporters, Bill Hunter, Russell Krenzler, Katrina Krenzler, and Jasmine Ferris wear smiles, while watching early results
Prince George, BC – The temperature is rising at the Coast Inn of the North, with cheers going up as preliminary results show the governing Liberals returning with a majority government…
"Wow, that’s surprising" is a common comment being heard as the results continue to roll in, but party supporters are happy with the way the wind seems to be blowing. Bill Hunter says he expected Shirley Bond to take Prince George-Valemount, but is surprised by her strong lead at this point. He’s also pleasantly surprised with the strong Liberal support that is shaping up in the Lower Mainland.
No sign yet of either incumbent, Shirley Bond, or newcomer, Mike Morris, but a party atmosphere is growing.

mattyc,
you moving to Alberta now?
Fantastic news! MattyC, you watching this?
He is busy on the phone renting a u-haul
my faith has been restored we are not all daft … Now to find the 801 crew …..
Going to be allot of cranky teachers in school tomorrow, might be best to let the kids have a day off.
It is the BCLiberal machine at work. No matter what the final result, this is a campaign to study for anyone who wants to win when it matters.
Again, pollsters need to hone up on their methodology.
well done mike morris
Christy is running a tight race. With a win, she will have a seat somewhere if she will not win her seat.
Bend over BC. On the bright side their should be a lot of new jobs with the Libs. Think I will go into used car sales
Huge sigh of relief!
Lol poor Mattyc.
The NDP failed the day they elected Dix as their leader.
The name political scientist may have to be changed., any ideas.
NoWay,
I have to agree with you, I believe that man scared allot of the average citizens of this province.
I can only imagine that hand-wringing going on at Jim Sinclair’s home right now! Poor Jim, he won’t get to lead the province!
I can honestly say that I am glad that Adrian Dix is leading/elected in his own riding. It will be so wonderful for him to go the Legislature and sit on the Opposition side once again. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
Well, I guess the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer. Will be the last time I vote. I did hear years ago that a lot of NDP votes were found floating in the river, so I quit voting way back then. I did vote again this time, but NEVER again!!
mattyc is that you at the Greyhound just give Dix a call and use his bus to take you all out of the province
nononsense,
Are you a teacher?
What does the NDP and the Toronto Maple Leafs have in common? :D
I see Andrew Weaver a green sidekick of Suzuki got elected. The man is a lying flake.
Better post a cop car at the bridges around town I can think of a few posters that might be headed there (one especially – last cog that was engaged might slip completely:)
When Dix was elected leader there was a high profile member, might have been Harcourt I don’t recall, that suggested that picking someone from the looney left was a huge mistake and would cost them in the long run. Looks like he was correct.
Global projects 4 more for Cristy and Keith is having a healthy dose of crow….has been beating the NDP drum for months.
nononesence that was NDP supporters looking for the fools gold you were all promised
My faith in BC is confirmed. The province has realized that a province run by unions and eco nutbars dosen’t and never will work. Maybe one day Ontario and Quebec will figure it out.
Mattyc’s incoherant rants likely showed voters how wacked out many dippers really are. Thanks MC.
“Well, I guess the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer. Will be the last time I vote.”
With that kind of attitude are you really surprised at the results?
I dunno if I can wait till matty’s next rant. I cant wait to see his take on things.
I always found it hilariously ironic that Billy Vanderzalm was is hero. A staunch lunatic NDP supporter worshiping the old guard Socred leader.
Nononsense, if you feel so strongly in favor of a party, you need to vote, every time. Why let anyone else decide for you? This is exactly the mentality that allows politicians to walk all over everyone.
I hope you change your mind. Voting is very important.
The best comment I have read on a different site so far tonight…………………..
“I blame Luongo”
At least on NDPer has a sense of humor. To bad the radical supporters cant accept defeat graciously.
it this was twitter, #mattyc would be trending.
MattyC has left the building. It will be interesting to see if we can figure which handle he will be posting under now. I think puntuaction will give him away. Or is he actually a she?
I’ll work on my spelling later. Excited to get back to work.
Umm Dow7500 the Liberals do not support the pipeline so a lot of econuts voted Red.
Poor Mattyc. I hope he finds happiness in Alberta. #mattyc.
No way. they have not flat out rejected it. Or flat out rejected kinder morgan. Ummm see the diference?
Because legally they can’t. This is what Dix wasn’t telling people.
Dow7500 I would say a lot of union members voted liberal. There is a bid difference between union executive and common union members. The rank and file can think for themselves.
seamutt,
I agree with your point on that one. Many union leaders think pretty highly of themselves and their membership can see through them.
I’m union and went with liberal because the way the union was conducting itself was very un democratic. At the end of the day democracy would not rule with Dix.
Stolen from another site:
“Updated 2013 choke of the year finalists: 1. Maple Leafs. 2. BC NDP. 3. Sergio Garcia.”
Prices at the Ritchie Bros auction tomorrow just went up about 10%.
MATTYC…..WHERE ARE YOU????
I’ll wgaer the vast majority of public sector union members voted NDP. Thats been their core for decades. private sector unions not so much.
dow7500, probably very true!
Albus Antiquus Vir
I’d have to move the NDP up to #1 the leafs were up 3 coming down to the wire…Dix blew a 20 point lead.
