Prince George, BC – What appears to be an alcohol-fuelled dispute has landed one man in hospital in serious condition, and another in custody…
RCMP say officers were called to a report of a stabbing just before 1am in the 13-hundred block of Diefenbaker Drive. A 30-year-old man was transported to the University Hospital of Northern BC with life-threatening injuries. Police say he is now in stable condition.
A 21-year-old suspect was located and arrested on Oak Street, without incident. He’s expected to appear in Provincial Court today.
Investigators say the two men were known to each other. Anyone with information is asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Sympathy? Nope. Just the question if they whipped out their paid up BC Health Care cards at the hospital.
Seems to be a lot of stabbing going on.
Do we need to set up a National Knife Registry.??
There was a time when men settled their differences with their fists. Now it’s a knife or a gun, times have changed.
Many people are severely injured and killed every day with fists!
Sure wish that our health care system was able to send a bill to the idiot with the knife. Sadly, our justice system will probably “nicely” ask the perpetrator not to stab anyone in the future. Nobody will ask the taxpayers if we want to keep paying for the health care needed and the court costs!!
Dragonmaster, I don’t condone violence in any manner, however between the three types of fights; fist, knife, and gun fights, fist fights are the least deadly.
I agree that some people die from a blow, or blows, to their heads in a fist fight. I would say in 1 out of 20 fist fights one or both fighters may require hospitalization. However, the rate of hospitalization or death from knife and gun fights far exceeds those of fist fights.
This is why the RCMP will lay charges of assault or aggravated assault when a fight involves fists. Use a knife or a gun and the charge is assault with a weapon, a much more serious charge.
Seriously, Dragonmaster if someone came up to you and challenged you to a fight but said what will it be; a fist, knife or gun fight? What would you choose?
I know what I would choose… a pillow… because only one out of a thousand pillow fights would require hospitalization… LMAO
“Do we need to set up a National Knife Registry.??”
Yes. Just go to the Bay and they will set it up. Just give them the particulars for the happy couple. ;-)
