City Council Has Light Agenda

Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George Air Improvement Roundtable ( PG AIR) will be presenting an update on its activities to Mayor and Council this evening. The update includes details on the wood stove exchange program and progress to meet PM 2.5 reductions.
Also on the agenda for this evening’s regular council meeting are two public hearings. One calls for an amendment to the Official Community Plan to allow several lots to be rezoned for light industrial instead of the existing residential resource.
Another hearing requests a change on some properties on Carney from RS2 to RS4.
Staff will request the City close the sani-dump that is operating at the Quinn Street recycling site. The sani- dump is a hold over from the City’s operations of a transfer station at that site, the City is no longer responsible for this site, as the Regional District is now responsible for what is now a recycling site.
Council is expected to receive as information, several letters from area residents which call for Mayor and Council to spare the Pine Valley Golf Course from being sold for private development.

Why does it seem that changes to the OCP is on the agenda more often than rezoning requests.
If the people living in the houses backing on to the land up for discussion tonight looked at the long term plans when they bought or built and thought that it would be a house on the adjoining lot -NBD.
Now city hall has the big rubber stamp out and will likely allow it to be converted to light industrial and all the uses it allows.
So now when they sit on the back deck they will not be looking at a house with lawn and even a flower or two but an industrial building with no landscaping at all as council again broke out the big rubber stamp to pass the variance on landscaping requirements. Nice.
This has got to be the most amazing mayor and council we ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Your next Mayor may be a Ford knockoff …
Nuther City cutback! Closing the Sani Dump!
Probably doesn’t affect many people, hence no opposition? Saving lots of pennies but wasting it on the many over $100K salaries for municipal workers!
At least Ford got Toronto spending under control.
ok, so who was the fireman who got charged?
Interesting how its kept quiet. na, our
city employees wouldnt ever do anything
that isnt honest, na.
We may not have a Rob Ford, but we definitely have a Doug Ford on our city council.
I can see the Mayor or anyone from council does not live in this area. Maybe they should make all the land in Harper Valley light industrial. Put in all the water and sewage, for business development. Light Industrial would be great next to the City Hall.
