The Intermediate and Senior Yalenka Ukrainian Dancers are ready to perform

Prince George, BC – From high-flying tricks to intricate steps, the Yalenka Ukrainian Dancers are ready to shine at their year-end concert this evening…

The two-hour performance is open to the public and Dancers Society President, Debra McConnell, is hopeful city residents will take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy an evening of dance and find out a little bit more about the club.

"Our dance lessons are open to all and are a really affordable way to get kids – and their parents – active and having fun," says McConnell, who will be dancing with the adult class.

The tuition for next fall’s beginner class is just $25 per month, while teens in the Seniors class will pay $45 per month.  Yalenka’s Head Dance Instructor/Choreographer is Vancouver-trained, Darcia Pryce, who joined the club from Vernon two years ago.

In addition, McConnell points out that the dancers have the opportunity several times per year to learn choreography from the Artistic Director of the Ukrainian Shumka Dancers in Edmonton – Canada’s only professional Ukrainian Dance Troupe.

Several of those dances will be performed tonight.  Doors to this evening’s concert at the Prince George Playhouse open at 6:30pm.  Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for students and seniors, while children 5 and under are free.
