Witnesses Sought In Dawson Creek Assault
Dawson Creek, BC – RCMP in Dawson Creek are seeking witnesses after a woman was seriously assaulted in a field near the Dangerous Goods Route in the community early Friday morning. In particular, they’d like to speak with the operator of an all-terrain vehicle who may have information that could assist officers with the ongoing investigation.
Sergeant Scott West says the victim received treatment for her injuries at the hospital and is working with police. He says the attack occurred prior to 4:20am on Friday morning in a field off of 17th Street in Dawson Creek, between the Dangerous Goods Route and 116th Avenue.
Sergeant Scott says officers located personal items belonging to the woman discarded along the DGR, approaching Highway 97 South. Fresh ATV tracks were also discovered along the route. He says RCMP would like to speak with this possible witness, or any member of the public who may have seen a vehicle or pedestrian activity in the area after midnight.
