This is the 14th time the Province has waived the need for a fishing license in most freshwater lakes and non-tidal streams in the Province in an effort to get people to experience the sport. If you plan to fish for a species requiring a conservation surcharge stamp or on classified waters , you will still need to buy the supplementary licences. For information on these few exceptions, please consult pages 7-8 of the 2013-15 Freshwater Fishing Regulations Synopsis.

In Mackenzie, today and tomorrow, the Mackenzie Elks, branch 547, is sponsoring an event on Williston Lake.
In Quesnel, the Quesnel Rod and Gun Club is sponsoring an event at Ten Mile Lake.
It’s estimated about 25 thousand people will take advantage of the fre Family Fishing Weekend.
Sport fishing pumps a lot of money into the economy as freshwater anglers spend about $480 million each year on equipment, travel, accommodation and hospitality services.
