Prince George, B.C.- Variety, the Children’s Charity has donated $100 thousand dollars to the Spirit of the North Healthcare foundation to buy 13 new monitors for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University Hospital of Northern B.C.

“As the only NICU in the North, it is critical that we have specialized monitoring equipment to care for premature and acuity ill neonates” says Belinda Maidment, Manager of Maternal Child Services. “These 13 new monitors, along with our highly trained NICU caregivers, help ensure the best possible care for these at risk newborns and their families.  We are very appreciative of this gift” adds Maidment.

Since 1965, Variety has raised over $170 million. In the last 18 months, Prince George and surrounding communities have received grants totaling $183,000 to 44 families and the hospital.
