City Upgrades Website Homepage

Thursday, June 20, 2013 @ 12:07 PM
Prince George, B.C.- The City of Prince George has made some changes to it’s website homepage.

Developed in-house, the new design took inspiration from the websites of several communities, a revisit to the options presented when the website was overhauled a few years ago, and a look at best practices. The result is a home page that looks cleaner, and one which the City hopes will be easier to navigate.

“We wanted to make sure the information people need right away is  right in their face” says the City’s Manager of Communications, Chris Bone.

The new design offers quick access to those links which are visited most often. It also features a large, centrally placed search bar to make it easier to find information.

New to the home page is a link to “eNotify”, which allows people to log in, and subscribe to information they would like to receive via email, text, or both. The options include everything from CN Centre events, to snow clearing schedules.

Can I get eNotified when the mayor has cut the 10% waste from all the departments like she promised to do!

Not going to eHold my breath waiting.

Oh for crud sakes, was the expense really needed at this time? Nothing wrong with the old site that could have served longer. Hey Stolz I thought we are broke? Do not want to even hazard a guess how much it cost…..
