Prince George, B.C. – The second full day of summer 2013 is being marked in Prince George with the inaugural Summer Solstice Festival of Creative Arts.

The event is much like a Renaissance Festival. It is inclusive and interactive and is all about family fun. Tents featuring the works of artisans, crafters and vendors as well as foods are set up, and there’s a family picnic area where your family can enjoy a picnic in the festival surroundings.

There are several activities for children including free games, crafts, outdoor yoga and drumming circles. And the idea is to grow the festival year after year with the addition of volunteers and participants.

The Summer Solstice Festival of Creative Arts runs from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the Willowtree Authentic Living Centre at 788 PG Pulpmill Road.
