Quesnel, B .C. – A 28 year old Prince George man is in custody in Quesnel, following a shooting at a Quesnel residence.
Just before 11:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21st, Quesnel RCMP received a report of shots fired from a residence in the area of West Fraser Drive in Quesnel.
Quesnel RCMP members arrived on scene and determined that a male suspect had shown up at the home, produced a handgun and demanded money before firing the gun at the residents.
Police say it is extremely fortunate that no one was struck by the gunfire.
The lone male left the scene in a blue pickup truck. Less than an hour and a half later, the same truck was discovered engulfed in flames on Marsh Road in Quesnel.
Quesnel RCMP identified a suspect and, working with Prince George RCMP, were able to apprehend their suspect in the back yard of a residence on Freeman Street in Prince George. The suspect is said to have been in possession of a semi-automatic rifle (in photo above) which was confirmed stolen during a Break & Enter at an address on Shelley Road on June 11th, 2013. Members of the P.G. Crime Reduction Team arrested the suspect and located a loaded laser sighted semi-automatic SKS rifle nearby.
