Prince George, B.C.  – It  is Canada Day, and  later this morning, people will start to fill up Fort George Park to enjoy  the entertainment and food  that will be  part of the day long party.

Canfor is  marking it’s 75th Anniversary today  with  three events in town. It starts with a pancake breakfast from 8:30 – 10:30 and Railway and Forestry Museum. The first 200 people will get a free Canfor hat.

Then , Canfor will have a  Forest Management and Energy Booth at FOrt George Park where they will be giving our  free seedlings.  The company will wrap up  the day with the fireworks display  from Connaught Hill.  Canfor is picking up the tab for that display, one that not only  celebrates the company’s birthday, but puts the  flash into the  wrap up of Canada Day.  Because the fireworks are  being staged from Connaught Hilll, they should be visible from nearly  any site in Prince George.  The start time for the fireworks is  11 p.m.

Huble Homestead is also celebrating today, but  in keeping with  the  tradtion of the  historic site, they are  celebrating "Dominion Day". There will be heritage demonstrations including  making  icecream, and churning butter. The Homestead also promises some pioneer games, and  some contests, and free birthday cake. 

Events at Huble get underway at 10 and run till 4.
