Books For A Song…
Bookworms hunt for treasures yesterday at the PGSO’s annual fundraiser
Prince George, BC – Actually, it’s a book sale for the local symphony, but it’s a fundraiser that could keep you reading all summer.
The PGSO’s 4th Annual Book Sale is on this weekend in the former auto dealership building at the corner of 20th Avenue and Victoria Street.
PGSO Office Manager, Virginia Allen, says the event has really caught on with the community.
"It’s an important fundraiser for the symphony," says Allen. "Firstly for the money that we make, but I know people have been calling to find out when it’s happening – they really look forward to it because they find something that’s new to them."
City residents can browse through stacks of books that have been donated over the past year, gather up a box or bagful, and choose the amount they’d like to donate to the symphony.
The sale runs today through Monday, from 11am until 7pm. Allen is hopeful many park-goers will stop by on their way to or from Canada Day celebrations in Fort George Park.
