RCMP to Investigate Fire
Prince George, B.C.- A fire this afternoon on Village Avenue in Prince George, is now being investigated by the RCMP.
Fourteen fire fighters from three halls responded to the call of smoke coming from a duplex in the 1200 block of Village Avenue around 1:00 this afternoon.
When crews arrived on scene, the fire had spread into the other side of the duplex. Luckily, there was no one home on either side of the building at the time of the blaze.
Crews were quick to contain and extinguish the fire, and remained on scene for a couple of hours to douse any possible hot spots. Damage was contained to the kitchen areas on each side of the duplex and is estimated to be in the range of $120 thousand dollars.
While the cause of the fire is undetemined, Prince George Fire Rescue has turned the investigation over to the Prince George RCMP for further investigation.
