Cougars Select Two Slovakian Team Mates

Prince George, B.C. –  The Prince George Cougars have selected two Slovakian  team mates in the 2013 CHL Import Draft 

Their fourth overall selection in the  draft  the Cougars  selected 1995-born Slovakian forward David Soltes.
 
Soltes (6’0”, 183 pounds) is a right-handed shooting winger who scored 13 goals, 16 points and 60 penalty minutes in 19 games with Hockey Club Kosice U-20. The product of Kosice tallied seven goals and 18 points in 18 games with Slovakia’s U-18 International team. He then scored four goals and one assist in six games with Slovakia at the 2013 World Under-18 Championships.

With their second round selection (64th overall)  the Cougars chose 1995-born Slovakian defenceman Martin Bobos.
 
Bobos (6’6”, 223 pounds) tallied one goal, seven points and 38 penalty minutes in 34 games last season with HC Kosice U20. He added one goal and seven points in 11 playoff games. Last season at the World Under-18 championships, Bobos recorded one goal and 10 penalty minutes in six games.
 
Other notable Slovakian players who have suited up for the Cougars include: Zdeno Chara (Boston Bruins), Martin Marincin (Edmonton Oilers prospect), Marek Viedensky (San Jose Sharks prospect), Ronald Petrovicky (Six NHL seasons).
