Prince George, B.C.- Pacific NorthWest LNG has submitted its application for a licence to export liquefied natural gas.
This is the 6th company in B.C. to file for such a licence.
The Pacific NorthWest LNG proposal would see a liquefied natural gas export operation on Lelu Island, within the District of Port Edward, near Prince Rupert. The facility would liquefy and ship natural gas from northeastern B.C to markets in Asia.
"The recent submission of our NEB export licence application represents another important step in bringing our LNG project to reality," said Greg Kist, president of Pacific NorthWest LNG.
Pacific NorthWest LNG is requesting to export 19.68 million tonnes of LNG annually for 25 years.

One condition should be that all pipeline and processing facilities be build in Northern BC. With as many as 5-6 LNG pipelines and facilities to be located in this region as proposed, than it only makes sense so should the spin off manufacturing to realize these projects.
Also one would hope BC gets the unfracked gas and the fracked gas is for export due to the heavy metal contamination of fracked gas. If not one might consider moving away from areas where the fracked gas is used.
