Crash Brings Traffic to a Standstill

Prince George, B.C. – Gridlock at the intersection of Highway 97 and the Old Cariboo Highway this afternoon following a two vehicle crash.
 
There is no word yet on possible injuries following the crash which involved two cars.  One of the vehicles ended up in the ditch.
 
North and southbound traffic on Highway 97 ground to a halt until emergency crews could set up a detour around the crash site.

That is such a bad intersection, I’m surprised that there aren’t more accidents there.
Hopefully everyone is ok and no serious injuries!

The intersection is just fine. The drivers on the other hand….

Dragonmaster is right. It is a very simple intersection. Some people are just too impatient to wait for a safe chance to enter the highway, or don’t consider the speed of those on the highway.

And 28.8% don’t want to see an increase in stiffer penalties for distracted driving.

Must be 28.8% that are distracted drivers.

Good point, there is no bad intersection only bad/impatient drivers.

….drivers cause accidents…not road conditions or weather!

Accident is such a poor word to use.
