Arrest Made in Attempted Sex Assault Case

Prince George, B.C.- An arrest has been made in connection with an attempted sexual assault earlier this week. This is the case where a woman woke up in her Upland Street residence to find a man with a knife in her bedroom.
 
RCMP in Prince George executed a Criminal Code search warrant on a residence in the 1900 block of Upland Street in the City.
 
The lone occupant of the residence, a 22 year old male, was arrested and taken into custody. The Prince George RCMP’s Forensic Identification Section attended the scene to assist with gathering evidence.
 
The 22 year old man, who recently moved to Prince George from Alberta, was held in custody and is to appear in Provincial Court later today. The Prince George RCMP will be recommending the following charges to Provincial Crown Counsel:
 
·      Sex Assault with a Weapon
·      Assault with a Weapon
·      Uttering Threats
·      Break & Enter with Intent
·      Overcoming Resistance
 
The investigation is continuing.
