Hot Town Summer In The City

Prince George, B.C. – What do you do to amuse yourself on a hot day in the middle of summer in the city of Prince George?

Well, the answer is likely as varied as the number of people you ask. Some people did some Farmer’s Market shopping while others headed to the mall. One fellow sat in the shade atop Connaught Hill with his laptop while another flew down 3rd Avenue on a skateboard with what looked like a “large” ice cream cone firmly grasped in his mit.

Some got a kick (photos above) out of taking a ride on the Cottonwood Railway at the Railway and Forestry Museum on River Road.   Others were equally as pleased with a ride on the Little Prince on the Fort George Railway at Fort George Park.

Then there were folks who thought a nice leisurely bicycle ride (pictured left) around the streets of downtown Prince George was just the ticket on a sunny afternoon. But you’d be hard-pressed to tell all the tykes at Fort George Park that there was anything better than a cool spray at the Rotaract Water Park to provide the perfect solution to temperatures that reached to the mid and upper 20’s, depending on your location.

There’s more sunshine in the forecast today so have an enjoyable time, whatever you decide to do.
