They were very thorough in their searches. Nice to see my tax dollars actually working out there. The RCMP should be doing these searches more often. Heck at work, there are over 14 vehicles with their winter studs still on. A big thumbs up for this story.
I went through one of the vehicle checks and they had a driver pulled over who refused to get off her cell phone while an officer was trying to talk to her hopefully she was one of the ones charged with multiple offences
Great job, but how about getting out on the highways where the real danger is. Specifically hwy 97 north of prince george. I have driven the road between Mackenzie Junction and PG twice in the last month pulling my RV with my young family. I always maintain speed limit or slightly above. I have been passed at least 3-4 times each trip where the oncoming traffic has had to pull to the shoulder to avoid a head on. These passes are double solid lines where it is obviously unsafe to pass i.e. blind corner, cresting a hill. I could care less what happens to these idiots but they are putting my family at risk for no reason.
sorry for the rant
Double solid passing, happens to me quite often and that’s with doing the speed limit or better.
What they should do, Start pulling over the 4×4 that are jacked up. I see a lot of these units that probably can be busted just for having the head lights too high, inadequate braking. insufficient compensation made to ensure safe steering. Too many driveway experts jacking up there 1/2 tons, and slipping 38 inch tires. no modifications to brakes, steering and lights.
delpieve, probably some goofs that post comments about how bad commercial drivers are that are driving like that.
He spoke…brakes, steering??? What modifications do you speak of?
Yes passing on double solids is illegal. However, it makes me wonder who says where these double solids are placed? Many I’ve seen are totally ludicrous.
Does anybody care about impaired drivers, unsafe vehicles, unsafe passing or comments about commercial drivers?? Good grief people, Prince Williams and Kate just HAD A BABY BOY!!
Comeon, get yur priorities straight!
;)
Hard to believe there is still idiots driving with studded tires
I find nothing hard to believe peewee12.
Although many people can’t afford both summer and winter tires.
I wonder how many of the 321 notices were for cracked windshields? I know I sure as heck don’t replace mine in this town with a ticket ordering me to do so.
delpieve…… so lemme see if I got this straight, you drive over the speed limit, you drive at the speed limit, I hafta believe you drive below the speed limit, (since ur pulling an RV). So you speed with a clear conscience, but feel others should obey the laws. I wonder what you do to ‘help’ the traffic behind you get by, you know DEFENSIVE driving. I too pull an RV and know full well how anxious drivers can get if they’re kept behind an RV, but I go out of my way to let the traffic by that has caught up to me. It seems simple enough that if they’ve caught up to you they are/want to travel faster than you’re going so let them go as soon as safely possible. Even if that means slowing down to 50-60 kmh on a dotted line. Don’t let someone else control your safety. jmho
Oh I was also wondering what “6 Electronic device violations” means. cell phones? or radar detectors maybe?
Censored the topic was about the passing on double lines.
Radar detectors are legal and mine in particular, works really well.
I wonder how many vehicles were checked to get a figure of 468? Wish we had those stats too.
Good work though. My hat’s off to the RCMP and CVSE for doing what they do. There just aren’t enough of them out there on traffic duty.
