It’s a Boy!
Prince George, B.C.- Congratulatory messages are being sent to Prince William and his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge on news she has delivered a healthy baby boy.
The baby arrived at 4:24 London time, and weighed 8 lbs 6 ozs.
Canadian Governor General David Johnston has offered this message to the new parents:
"My wife, Sharon, and I would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the occasion of the birth of their son.
Sharon and I have five wonderful daughters and ten delightful grandchildren and know well the elation that a new arrival brings to a young family. We know that this happy event brings great joy not only to Their Royal Highnesses, but to the entire nation as well.
May the years to come with this child be filled with love and pride for all members of the Royal Family."
You can write your own wishes to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the Governor General’s website www.gg.ca.
B.C. Premier Christy Clark has sent her own message to the Duke and Duchess:
"I am delighted to offer my heartfelt congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their first child.
"We join in welcoming a new generation to the Royal Family. We also celebrate the renewal of an institution that ties us to our shared history across the Commonwealth.
"For many British Columbians, the Monarchy serves as a symbol of stability and hope in times of global transformation. With the birth of their baby boy, this promise and commitment is renewed for another generation.
On behalf of all British Columbians, I wish the new family health, happiness, and joy."
Now that the baby’s gender and birthdate are known, bookies continue to take bets on the baby’s name. Tradition suggests it may include Charles, ( William’s father) or Micheal (Kate’s father) as well as Phillip, to honour William’s grandfather.

Everyone cheer and raise a glass to another fertile couple in the UK. :-)
Does this cost us any money? Like, do we have to send a gift or something?
I think you should Gus, and can you save me a little cash by signing Taxi by your name…lol
Who cares.
A gift? Aren’t we already paying for the diapers? ;-)
Awhile back there was a story I read where someone thought changing the name of our city from Prince George to Tsay Keh Dene would be a really good idea.
I think the royal couple should name their new son Tsay Keh Dene. ;-)
Yes for 60 something years for Charlie……
One of the frontrunner for a name is George which would make him HRH Prince George of Cambridge not to be confused with HRH of Prince George of Commonwealth
BLAME THE MEDIA!!!
