Clark And Redford Join Forces To Define Energy Development

Friday, July 26, 2013 @ 1:00 PM

Prince George, BC – BC Premier Christy Clark and Alberta Premier Alison Redford appear to have put their differences behind them when it comes to developments related to energy exports…

From the Premiers’ Gathering in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, the two have announced a joint working group to offer up recommendations related to energy exports and opening new export markets.  The working group will consist of two top energy officials from each province.

"Our two provinces have a common interest in responsible development and export of our energy resources," says Premier Clark.

For her part, Alberta Premier Alison Redford says the two provinces will work together to build new markets and get the highest price for energy resources.  "I’m excited about the progress we’re making and the potential for Alberta and BC to continue driving Canada’s economy."

Recommendations from the working group will be presented to the premiers later this year.

Imagine that. Just before the election they were like two cats with their tails tied together thrown over a clothes line.

I wonder how much BC Liberal Party campaign financing money was raised by Alberta’s Conservatives and BIG OIL?

Not surprised in the least by this turn of events, the BC Liberals will pretend to be anything to get back into power, and now the switcheroo with BIG OIL pulling the strings.

Both the Kinder Morgan pipeline expansion and Enbridge Northern Gateway pipelines should have been election referendums… but no… not in BC :(

Good to see that the NDP’ers have gotten over the last Provincial election. Oops, maybe not.

Lol

Suck it up dippers. The province spoke. Dix flat out rejecting kinder morgan woke people up. Love that the “big oil” boogeyman references haven’t stopped. This guarantees the fringe will always remain that.

I thought it was the Oil Companies that opened up new markets, and sold our oil and gas around the world.

Since when has this been a responsibility of the Provinces. Oil Co’s pay for exploration licenses and royalties. The Government (Especially Provincially) has no say in where oil or gas is sold, or for what price.

These oil companies, like many large corporations in Canada are for all intents and purposes, receiving Government Welfare. They will get **cushy** deals, especially for their natural gas plants. Probably in the form of cheap electricity that we, the taxpayers will pick up the tab for.

they are both a couple of liars 1.8 billion in debt and still counting sounds like someone else has all the right answers I know a virtual premier lets name him JOHNNYDOLT

Saw this coming.Clark did not want to lose any support in the north before the election, so she talked tough and Redford bit it, line and sinker. Then Clark won a larger majority. So the stance on Enbridge will change. Just like the BC Liberal stance on BC Rail changed after the 2001 election.

Redford will win over here in Alberta that she had convinced BC to go along with the Northern Gateway project. Clark will win in BC, as she secured jobs for BC. Harper will win, as he doesn’t have to ram this project through in the interest of Canadian security.

It’s a win/win/win scenario, except for the environment.
