Quesnel, B.C. – The finishing touches are being put in place as Quesnel’s airport prepares for this weekend’s Skyfest 2013.
On August 3rd and 4th, air performers will take flight for shows on Saturday and Sunday.
The Canadian Snowbirds, the Canadian Forces F18 demonstration team, aerobatic pilots Melissa Pemberton and Skip Stewart, aviation special effects artists, dare devil Carol Pilon, stunt pilot Kent Pietsch are just some of the performers who will be wowing the crowds this weekend.
Skyfest means there will be some road closures in the area for safety reasons.
On Friday, from 11:30 am to 1:15 p.m., and from noon to 1:00 and again from 3:08 to 4:35 pm on both the 34d and 4th, The Quesnel/Hixon Road will be closed from Campbell’s Crescent north to Muffords Farm Road.
Skyfest Quesnel is not the only airshow slated for the region.
On August 10th , Vanderhoof will host its own International Air Show. Some of the performers taking part in the Quesnel show will also be appearing in Vanderhoof. The Vanderhoof show is slated to be a one day event.

Just as soon as you do the following.
Form a Airshow Committee or Society.
Have a spare million dollars to pay for it.
Also see if the local airport authority is
willing to have the event.
That’s all BCRacer.
So pitter-patter, you better get at it.
Why not? I don’t know where you got your information about pg sticking their nose into it. You should check your source. It was the Vanderhoof group that got the pg airshow going in the first place.
I doubt it because they were each on the hook for 15 grand in the end.
Why take them over???
Just start your own BCRacer.
Get your sponsorship all lined up.
So that the show is paid for before it starts.
Attend a few Airshow Industry conventions.
So you can make some contacts and get your committee people trained up.
Then pick a date.
Hopefully it will not conflict with another airshow .
