Stories that Make You Smile

Friday, August 2, 2013 @ 1:03 PM
Prince George, B.C. – It’s Friday, we’re heading into a long weekend, so sometimes its just nice to share a nice little story.

You can consider this one an act of kindness by a member of the Royal Canadian “Meow”nted Police.

Constable Catherine Pescolla was on her way back to the Prince George Detachment at the end of her night shift, when she was flagged down by an elderly woman who asked for help in retrieving her cat from her porch roof.

No word on how the cat got there in the first place, but it had been on the roof for some time, was meowing and it appeared it didn’t know how to get down from it’s new perch.

Constable Pescolla went to the woman’s Vancouver Street home but with no ladder to help her get to the cat, she called on two colleagues to give her a hand.

While being secured by Constable Ville Lempinen, Constable Erin Devereux stood on a chair and reached up with a box in hopes the cat would climb in.

To everyone’s surprise,  it did.

The cat was unhurt and seemed happy to be back in the arms of its owner.

No word on if the officers will now apply to be part of the “Mew”sical Ride.

Thanks for sharing this. I love these kinds of stories and would like to see more of these on here. Maybe you should start a weekly column like Free For All Friday where we could write in and post positive comments on something in our lives or that someone did for us :)

Kinda gives the phrase “to protect and serve” a whole new meaning, nice to read and also nice to know they care about “the little things” that may not mean much to some people but speak volumes to others. Great story.

There are some absolutely hilawious stories about the force that can never be told that would have you laughing every time you thought about it, but yeah, this one is a nice news story, good to see.
Now, if that was a skunk……….

Great, good news story if you love kats?? It seems there has been a lack of real news on 250 lately.

Nice story, but I can’t recall reading anywhere that someone once found a cat skeleton on a porch roof.
