Saturday, August 3, 2013 @ 7:16 AM
Prince George, B.C. – Campers may have wondered what Mother Nature had in store for them as she kicked off the long B.C. Day weekend with thunderstorms in the Prince George area.

Following a hot, sunny day with temperatures in the high 20’s, the weather took a definite turn for the worse Friday evening as dark clouds moved into the area, bringing first some lightning and thunder, followed by a few isolated downpours and then the aftermath of the glowing underbelly of some more clouds that rolled through the bowl.

The Environment Canada weather forecast heading through the weekend looks like this:

Today: Mainly Cloudy. 40% chance of showers this afternoon with the risk of a thunderstorm.   High 26.

Tonight: Cloudy with a 60% chance of showers. Risk of a thunderstorm this evening and after midnight. Low 12.

Sunday: A mix of sun and cloud. 30% chance of showers in the morning, late afternoon and evening. Chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.   High 24.

Monday: A mix of sun and cloud. High 27.
