The largest being near Stony Lake about 50 kms east of Hixon. “That fire is about 30 hectares in size, and has had air tankers and a helicopter working it. This morning, two 20 person ground crews are on scene and the helicopter will likely be actioned this afternoon.”
The Prince George Fire Centre has fire danger ratings of moderate to extreme and an open fire ban was issued last Friday.
Yesterday, air tankers dropped fire retardant on a small fire at Gregg Creek, southwest of Prince George. That fire was said to be about .5 of a hectare, and there was a spot fire about 20 kms south east of Prince George at Dougherty Creek.

I noticed the air tanker was busy,–flies over our residence! Knew there had to be more fires nearby.
Lots of air overs tonight. Thought it might be from the air show in Quesnel…I think of a forest fire.
