Prince George, B.C.- In just a few hours from now, the 13U AAA Provincial Championship for BC Minor Baseball will get underway.

At 9 this morning, game one of the tournament will start with the Cloverdale Spurs vs the Nanaimo Pirates on the Prince George Minor field, while the Abbotsford Angels  and Chilliwack Cougars will take to the Spruce City Stadium field.   Both fields are located  at Carrie Jane Gray Park.

Opening ceremonies for the tournament are set for 5:45 this evening at the Spruce City Stadium

The Prince George LTN Contacting Knights are in the “A” Pool for this tournament, and will see their first action at noon, at the Spruce City Stadium where they will meet the Victoria Eagles Red.

The players may be young, but what they lack in years, they make up for with passion for the game and a very high skill level.

The tournament is a great pre-curser to the World Baseball Challenge which will get underway on the 13th.
