Thunder And Lightning Rock City

Prince George, BC – Even the heavy sleepers in your household may have been roused overnight by the spectacular lightning storm that moved through Prince George shortly after midnight.
BC Hydro says power was knocked out to just under 2100 customers at approximately 12:40am and is estimated to be restored at 7am this morning. Bing map above right shows area affected by outage.
As for the impact of all those lightning strikes on forests in the Prince George Fire Centre, Fire Information Officer, Erin Catherall, expects to have a bit clearer information in a few hours time. Catherall says reports are still coming into the office.
But it appears Mother Nature may not be done with the natural ‘fireworks’ display – Environment Canada says there is a risk of a thunderstorm later today and early this evening. There is also a chance we could see some more lightning tomorrow evening, as well.
The storm kept the temperature high overnight. Currently we sit at 23-degrees.

Great pics! I love watching big storms.
We went to the drivein last night I watched the skies more than the movies lol
Love thunderstorms but pity the poor dogs who are terrified by them. Such a scary night for them last night.
