Vanderhoof, B.C. – Highway 16 approximately 21 kilometres west of Vanderhoof remains closed in both directions after a serious motor vehicle crash this morning.
RCMP say an eastbound car crossed the centre line of the highway and slammed head-on into a west-bound semi just after 10 this morning not far from Canfor’s Plateau mill.
Corporal Madonna Saunderson says the driver and lone occupant of the car suffered severe injuries and had to be freed from the vehicle by emergency crews.
The driver of the truck escaped serious harm in the crash.
An RCMP collision analyst has been sent to examine the scene.
The highway remains closed, but officials say a detour is available via Bearhead Road and Telegraph Road.

Let the speculating begin! :)
Okay, thanks for the starters pistol. ;-)
I think it was a deer.
So, when crossing the center line into oncoming traffic, what are the odds of hitting a semi on that road instead of a passenger vehicle?
I will guess it was texting
;)
Hard to see those semi trucks they blend right in
Take a look , to many are driving very close or on the Center Line this is playing with Fire . What ever happened to driving all the Way to the right?
