Prince George- The old Cariboo Highway has been closed after a corrosive spill took place on the route near the intersection of the airport road.
Police are asking anyone that may have driven through the spill to go to the hospital to be checked out. A police officer did drive through the spill and later went to hospital.
It is not known what the corrosive material is .

Shouldn’t the contents of such a truck be clearly labelled? Emergency personnel need to know what they are dealing with.
I’m sure there labelled by TDG. No one at this time is even approaching the wreck there parked 75 yards back
Chances are they’re in contact with the trucking company to confirm contents. They should have copies or at least be able to put officials in contact with the shipper to forward dangerous goods documentation.
So you mean to tell me that they do not know the UN number and yet they are treating the material and asking people to go to the hospital. Perhaps they got it from the driver.
Hopefully the material does not corrode car tires.
All the required paperwork MUST (its a TDG requirement ) be in the truck. There doesn’t have to be TDG labels if the contents are under a certain size.
A dangerous goods label may be all that was needed for this shipment due to volumes.
Doesn’t really matter.. Just dealing with some scarey shiat if they are actually warning the public. To warrant a guess I would say exposure from inhalation or absorption. If you did have any chance of contact get your butt to,the hospital ASAP. And keep these records as there maybe long term side effects to cover thy butt.
Copies might be in the truck, but if I was the driver and went in the ditch like that I’d be running. Not stopping and taking time to grab any paperwork.
The trucker has two choices when it comes to the paperwork, one is leave it in the side pocket of the drivers our and the other is leave it on the seat. There is alo copies left with the shipper as well.
Just hope everyone is fine.
