Treat Wallin And Duffy The Same As Every Other Canadian

There is a simple solution to the Mike Duffy , Pamela Wallin senator investigation, turn the investigation over to the RCMP let them examine the facts, and if they determine there is enough to have them charged, then so be it.
Why in the world we should treat either Wallin or Duffy different from any other person in Canada behoves me. As a matter of fact both of them spent most of their lives digging up uncomfortable stories about other politicians and the general public , so one would think that they know better and know better indeed they do.
Just because one spent a lot of time before the TV cameras and knew how to ask some pointed questions doesn’t somehow how give them the right to be treated different.
Wallin has been at the government trough ever since CBC wired her from her former start status. She was appointed as Canada Consul to New York , which is little more than a pork barrel appointment, by then Prime Minister Jean Chretien and then as a senator by Harper. She knows the inside of a pork barrel a hell of a lot better than any farmer from Wadena, Saskatchewan where she grew up .
As for Mike Duffy he took great pride in busting heads while he was also on the hill. He knows and there is no excuse why not , that you are not allowed to live in Ottawa but bill for your home expenses in PEI.
If you are going to call people to task you had better be ready to stand up and face the music when you’re on the receiving end. Suggesting, as Duffy has, that the Conservatives tossed him under the bus is just another way to hopefully dodge a bullet rather than fess up and take responsibility.

I agree 100%. They should be disqualified from the Senate as well if found guilty by a court of law.
You want to reduce the line-up for the trough? Get rid of the swine and eliminate the senate.
If they abolish the senate, the Ottawa hockey team would have to find a new name.
Did Harper appoint these people because he thought they would be a great addition to the Senate, if so he is a poor judge of character. Or did he appoint them because he knew that the would line-up big time at the trough and we would demand that the elimination of the Senate thus solving his problem of the triple E Senate. When he was in opposition he pushed for the triple E Senate, when elected with the minority government he said that his hands were tied by the oppisition. When he received his majority and could have work on the triple E Senate nothing happened. Could he be afraid of a triple E Senate that would have some power? After all we Canadians could electe a triple E Senate that would be a different party than the ruling party and I know Harper would not like that.
What about Harb, he has ripped off more money than Duffy and Wallin combined and seems to be getting a free ride from the media and opposition. Oh sorry he is liberal not a conservative, how stupid of me.
When CRA audits you, and there’s a big discrepancy between what you reported as income, and what they find, they charge you with gross negligence and you pay the taxes, interest and a 50% penalty. They define gross negligence as you knew, or ought to have known, your income tax return was wrong. If Duffy and Wallin didn’t know what they were doing was wrong, they ought to have known. It’s not enough they’re saying, oh sorry, we’ll pay it back. You can’t say to a tax auditor, oh sorry, I’ll report that income now that you’ve caught me – you still get the penalty. Duffy and Wallin are two very intelligent people who ought to have known there was something wrong with what they were doing, and should have asked – gee, is this really okay to do this, it seems like such a good deal.
So, the average contractor out there who whether by error or design screws up his taxes, get’s hammered by the CRA. The average senator, seems to just have to make it okay now that they’re caught.
When I was a kid, I stole something from Sears and the store detective caught me, and I said – okay, I’ll pay for it then – he still called my parents – gee, wonder why? Maybe it’s because there are suppose to be consequences when you steal.

Harper announced today the prorogue of Parliament. Seems he would rather shut down the countries legislature from business, than have to answer any questions about this Senate scandal. I guess he is the government and he decides now when we have democracy and when we do not.
His Triple E senate claims before being elected were just the words used to get elected and really didn’t mean anything once he had power… ditto for being a conservative, transparency, defending the Arctic, and the list grows daily.
Did Harper not recently ask for an opinion from the Supreme Court regarding whether the House of Commons could unilaterally abolish the Senate? Every time the issue of a Triple-E Senate was put forward by the Conservatives the other Parties didn’t want anything to do with it, so how can you expect Harper to move ahead on such an issue, one that requires some unanimity, when there is none? Interesting how Harper is always painted as being ‘dictatorial’ and ‘secretive’ by the left-leaning media. Yet historically the Liberals were always much more of both when they were in office than Harper’s ever been.

So Harper is as stupid as local politicians running for Council promising the world when the world is not theirs to promise.
And the average voter falls for it every times ….. promises, promises, promises …..
So maybe Harper and the locals are not that stupid …… they know we are….. and they bet on it every time and win. ;-)

My observation and opinion is….ever since Justin Trudeau was elected leader of the Liberals….the Liberal page of the media lead by the CBC have been on an anti Harper campaign…I mean..it’s so obvious it makes one want to toss their cookies.. :(
