Prince George, BC – With another beautiful, sun-filled weekend on the way, local non-profits are hoping to entice city residents indoors long enough to register for their fall programs…

City of Prince George Recreation Coordinator, Robyn McConkey, "It’s an an opportunity for local non-profit groups to come out and really showcase all of their programs, activities, and special events."

"It’s kind of a ‘one-stop’ shop," she says.  "We all know the importance of active living and getting outside, getting exercise, but there’s also the importance of being with people – the social aspect."  To that end, the market features local groups like the astronomical society and genealogical society, alongside local skating clubs, dance groups, and league sports.

McConkey says the city has so much to offer and it’s just hoped that in addition to finding information on a group they’re aware of, city residents may also find a ‘surprise’ that tweaks their interest.

The Active Living Market runs from 9:30am until 6pm today and 11am until 5pm tomorrow.
