Spruce Kings Fall 4-3 In Regulation
Prince George, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings lost 4-3 in regulation time to the Cowichan Valley Capitals in their first game of the season, part of the Bauer BCHL Showcase being played at Prospera Centre in Chilliwack this weekend.
While Cowichan Valley jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the first period, the Spruce Kings were up 2-1 after 40-minutes, thanks to goals from Jake LeBrun and Christian Weidauer.
Skylar Pacheco scored at 4:19 of the third, before the Capitals poured it on with three goals to win the game. Prince George outshot Cowichan Valley 29-17. Alex Murray was in net for the Kings.
The team plays against the Nanaimo Clippers in a 2pm matinee in Chilliwack today, before their home opener next Friday night against Chilliwack at 7pm.
