Prince George, BC – The Prince George Spruce Kings will be looking to put the Bauer BCHL Showcase weekend behind them, as they get set to host their home opener on Friday night against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
After falling 4-3 to the Cowichan Valley Capitals in their first game of the year on Saturday night, the Kings were then beat 3-1 by the Nanimo Clippers yesterday at the showcase in Chilliwack.
Riley Hawes scored the team’s only goal at 15:15 of the first period on the power-play, with help from Bryant Christian and Christian Weidauer.
It was Jesse Jenks turn in net, after Alex Murray took the loss the night before. Jenks made 32 saves.
