YXS Evacuated No Access to Airport

Prince George, B.C.- The Prince George Airport has been evacuated an all roads to the Airport closed following what has been referred to as "an incident".

 

YXS spokesperson Lindsay Cotter says there was an " incident"  at around 8:20 this morning. "As a precaution, we have evacuated the Airport and our Emergency Operation s Centre has been activated"`

 

The nature of the incident has not been disclosed.

 

As for the status of incoming flights, Cotter says the airspace over the airport remains open, and one runway will be available for planes that want to land "but it will be up to the individual carrier to decide if they want to land their planes".

 

Cotter says she may be able to provide an update within the hour.
