Prince George- RCMP have taken as man into custody that is wanted on a Canada wide warrant , after police responded to a report of a break and enter on Uplands St. last evening.

A resident came home to find an intruder in her home. She was assaulted by the intruder, fled the residence , and then called police. She was not hurt.

On searching the home 29 year old Charles Robert Stewart , was found hiding in one of the rooms. After briefly resisting , he was arrested.

A computer check found that Stewart was wanted on a Canada wide warrant for breach of his parole. He is charged with B & E ,assault, obstructing a peace officer, being unlawfully at large and breach of conditions.

 He was on parole from a conviction in the Yukon.
