Regional District To Tackle Paper Products Recycling Issue

Thursday, September 12, 2013 @ 3:58 AM
Prince George, B.C.- Today, the Regional District of Fraser Fort George will wrestle with making a decision on the Multi-Materials B.C. offer that is on the table.

Like the City of Prince George, the Regional District has been offered an incentive   to enter into a contract with MMBC for recycling of paper products.   You may recall the City rejected the proposal saying the contract   was heavily weighted in MMBC’s favour. (see previous story)

The Regional District will be asked to  reject the incentive, and instead, work with MMBC’s drop-depot service collectors, to come up with alternative methods of having packaging and paper products  collected for  recycling.

MMBC has until May 19th of 2014 to have a recycling plan in place.
