Terrace, B.C. – The North District Major Crime Unit and Terrace RCMP have one male in custody after police were called to a shooting in Thornhill, east of Terrace, Saturday afternoon.

When police attended the scene around 1pm Saturday they found a man dead and a female who was injured. Both had been shot. The female was transported to the Terrace Hospital with a serious but non-life threatening gunshot wound.

“RCMP are still gathering information to determine what happened and are speaking with witnesses. We are able to confirm that we have one male in custody and that the public is not at risk in relation to this incident”. Stated Cst. Lesley Smith, North District Media Relations Officer.
